i did a search today, it had multiple pages of finds, when i clicked on the second page it said i have to wait 20 seconds between searches. There should not be a time limit to see the next page.

If you jist scroll down and go to the next page, it will do that.
The engine recognizes this as if you were searching again.
Not sure why is the timeout so large, could be as spamming prevention.

sorry, not sure what you mean. I am using Chrome on my PC. This may work on a mobile phone.

Happens to me EVERY TIME I try to look back a page or more for threads I'm subscribed to. Always get some message about having to wait 30 seconds or so. Pretty frustrating and doesn't make any sense.

It is not related to your browser, nor operating system; rather to forum settings, which we cannot control.

I have the same thing everywhere, i.e. I'm searching my old posts, scroll down and click on the next page in like 5 seconds. It does the same as you mention.

My best guess is the forum system recognizes this as another search, and not as an existing search (don't think it separates these).

Nothing we can do, unless forum desingers decide to put a smaller timeframe in which another search could be done.

If someone from the admins could advise here like TazKristi

Unfortunately, the search tool on most forums is a challenge. On ours, with such a busy forum, it's even worse because so many words can be excluded as common. And yes, the timer is a means to prevent an attack on the forum server (imagine if hundreds or thousands of bots attempted multiple repeating searches on the forum).

My best recommendation is to use Google to search the forum.

It's simple and reliable. Simply type site:forum.spyderco.com endura into a Google search (changing the bold word to whatever you're searching for).

I hope this helps!
