Perhaps this has been discussed before and I missed it but I am very curious about the material properties and manufacturing processes associated with making a knife with FRN scales versus G10 scales.
Sal-After buying three spydercos in the last two months and getting loads of use out of them, great product. One kife I would like to see next year if possible would be an mid-sized knife with a plain or 60/40 blade flat gound and the opion of ss handles....
Hi all. Am planning to order one or the other in the next few days. Both have many avid supporters, but I'm not sure that I've separated fact from opinion.
Am planning to use as backup defensive piece, but primarily as the knife I'll bring out when...
I just picked up my Micarta Calypso in VG-10, plain edge. Oh man, is this a beautiful knife. I just finished cutting up an orange, and it was virtually effortless. It glides into and out of the pocket like it's lubricated......
OK..just so you don't think I abandoned anyone..Andy and I are on our way very soon ( this Saturday the 5th) to the US Border Patrol..we'll be gone over a week..( yes teaching GUNTING) and I'll be back here online May 14..
Ok Mas has done it..Working with Poppa Spyder, hes come up with a very slim, neat package that allows for controlled slicing, point entry and very nasty reverse grip usage...
Trust Mas who loves firearms to come up with a pistol oriented knife...
What is the reasoning behind using rivets on the Chinook & Wegner vs assembly screws as are on the Military & Gunting? Why were rivets chosen and assembly screws chosen on these models?
i just bought this and i think that is amazing, it is the single most important piece in my works kit. i would like to thank sal for making knives like this possible.

What about using damasteel for spyderco. It look nice to me but frankly i don't know the advantage and disadvantage of this steel. Perhap you can expalain abit about it. Still remember the evolution edition of C01 in damacus.
I found in my collection a Spyderco all Stainless plain blade knife. It appears to be a Delica II but the box it is in says CX04P Expermintal 4 6/97. I assume that was the knife of the month for June of 1997?
If you assess the Chinook, Gunting, and Ayoob for their overall weight difference; you'll have a nice spectrum of heavy, medium, and light weight MBC blades. Granted that each knife has characteristics that help to detemine it's style of use, but I was...
i've heard that the spyderench is being redesigned or retooled or somethign of the like. i was wondering if there is a 2nd gen in the works for it, possibly a needle nosed version, or if the current model is the plan for the near future.
It was a sad day when I found myself unable to log on to the ol' CSSD forum board. In contrast, I had a smile on my face all day yesterday after discovering this new forum. I was wondering where everybody went!
Hey Sal first thing great forum I have been a lurker for awhile. I have one ? is there anyway to open the holes up on some of my spydies. I love the miltary because of the big hole. I have dropped all my other makers knives to become a spyder nut so keep...
Is there anywhere I can purchase the pre 98 plastic clip plain Blade Endura? I own Old Dixie Knife Shop in Jacksonville FL and I have a customer who owns a Garage and due to scratching fenders he has to have the old style plastic clip. If anyone could...
I'm getting ready to buy my third Spyderco (one broken Endura Clipit clip and one lost) and I have a question about the Native Lightweight. I was looking at the Online Store and I can't tell positively from the description if the...
I have been reading much on the Gunting, Military, and the Chinook because these three have my eye for the CPM-440V steel and overall looks. Which is the hottest at this time? I can only purchase one, I want it to be the most sought after...
