I've been thinking about the ability of the gunting to kinetically open on an opponent or object. Specifically, I was thinking of SPYDERHOLIC II's and Bram's warnings never to open it on a living thing unless you want trouble.

Is this knife still in the works? I love slipjoints because they cut well and are non-threatning to nonknife people, but they always fall out of my pocket. I really want a Spyderco slipjoint with a clip and a hole. It would also look very nice with some...
Just arrived! Very cool knife. Super-smooth action. Feels great in the hand. Anybody else carry one of these? Any thoughts or insights you'd like to share on this knife?
I am one proud owner of a Ladybug. I just have a small mention to make. It is small, of course, and quite unsuitable for one hand opening, especially if you have big hands. So I made a design where I moved the hole slightly backwards, so your thumb comes...
Your thread malfunctioned,ie. no right margin stop. Thought I would start a new one.
You'll like the Gunting. I've had one for several months and have used it a lot around the house and outside. BTW, it sharpens up easily; I have the combo and...
Does anybody have any of these clipless knives? Are they kinda the black sheep of the Spyderco family? I would assume they have the same Spydie quality as everything else. Opinions?
Something that we don't often read about here is the B word .Even in a successful defense with the blade, I assume that one is quite likely to be dealing with large amounts of blood.Hopefully it will be the bad guy's but could be yours as well. What is the...
I have always hesitated to carry any clip knife in my rear pocket for fear the clip would catch on a chair while sitting, unknown to me, and I would lose my knife. Have any of you experienced this? The other day, at home, I had my Endura clipped in my...
Well, after almost 6 months of carrying my Native everyday with less than diligent cleaning and maintenance, I'm starting to notice a few small pinpoints of brown on the tang around the laser etching. The brown doesn't rub off just using your thumb, so...
I've been thinking about the wrench. But as a Leatherman owner(which has served me well for years), I feel unfaithful adulterer!! To all men that own leatherman tools,
I NEED HELP!!!!!

This is not spam-I just received a new lime green Jester and a Vesuvius for Bayou Lafourche (knifeworks.com). The service was awesome-Placed the order last Sat. night and it was shipped Mon am. UPS messed up the delivery and Bayou refunded my shipping...
Well, it is May 1st!!! I haven't received the Spyderweb engraved Delicas yet but I am as giddy as a kid on his/her first date. I want to thank Linda for the time and effort she has put into this. CHEERS AND THANKS to
Hello all this is my first time in the forum and this will be my first spyderco(it is being delivered from ebay soon). I want to know what i can do to take care of it. and what kind of up keeping i should do on the blade itself. it is a(38.99 new)Spyderco...
Bram's defense of the aggressive look of his knife in a thread I posted a while back got me thinking, and after geting used to the looks by looking at the pics of it, it really isn't that aggressive-looking of a knife. So, I purchased it today from...
Hey New to this forum and I was wondering if anyone else had the blade of their Frank Centofante Spydie snap at hte Spydie hole? I'm shipping it back to Spyderco for repair, as it was a darn good knife and I'm hopping they'll repair it
besides being hard to sharpen, what exactly is a tanto blade good for? just wondering, because i have never been able to use a tanto blade in any useful application.
Which spyderco knife has the softest steel of them all? Anything made of Aus 6 or anything? I know dragonfly's are aus8, but im looking for something a bit softer.
i need a blade for extremely light duty, but it has to be razor sharp. preferably,...
Who would want a Endura or Delica in Stainless with a spider and web engraved on the handle and blade? Sound off the more that will buy one the cheaper they'll be.
I just got a new Rocky Mountain Element xc mountain bike. Those guys did a fantastic job. The bike comes with a card signed by each person who worked on the bike and the wheels are also signed by the dude who built them. These beauties are made in Delta,...

What exactly is it in a blade that corresponds to how hard the blade is? Is it the carbon content? I'm assuming so, since Aus 6 is real easy to sharpen and it has a low carbon content, and something like vg10 is real hard to sharpen and it has a high...
I carry user 's (for medium to hard use) and show 's (that rarely get used). I can get both very sharp with the 204 but not quite as scary sharp as they come from the factory. I know that Spydies come sharpened from the factory at the 30 angle, and it is...
Where can I get a good definition/discussion of the pros & cons of the various types of steel used in Spyderco knives. I know what I have and how it works for me but when comparing it to some of the other steel types I have a hard time coming up with...
If you haven't already noticed I'm on sort of a Perrin kick. (already have an escape plan when my Girlfriend catches me buying it)it seems to me that the Perrin would be almost perfect in the MBC role but would like some outside opinions...
