Hey, everyone!
Most of you are familiar with the terms Knife Knuts and Steel Junkies. We're curious, what nickname would you suggest for those who are passionate about the Mule Teams? Keeping in mind we like to steer clear of names that vilify our...
So, you bought a Mule Team? Congrats! Are you looking for a little inspiration to personalize it? Are you interested in testing the steel and comparing it against another? Or have you already personalized and tested multiple Mules, and you want to share...
Ahead of the S45VN being released tomorrow I spent some time with my first Mule SPY27. I don’t have scales for it yet because I haven’t decided what to go with at the moment. My problem is the butt of the handle digs into the middle of my pinky finger...
As you're probably tired of reading by now, my interest is in lightweight versions of Mules. I've been on a hunt for light, durable scales (can't find sheets of FRN) and thought you Muleniks might be interested...or not...but if you are, my measurements:...
Hey, everyone:
Thank you all for your participation in this new area of the forum. It's been awesome to watch. Reading through posts, and seeing new members, piqued my curiosity.
How many of you joined the forum because of the Mule Team?
This topic has a poll. by Henry_P » Sun Mar 28, 2021 2:13 am
I am creating this poll at Sal’s request to help gauge interest in Larrin’s new CPM MagnaCut. Please select if you would like 1 or 2 and if you are in the United States or not. Also, please do not vote if you are not interested in this upcoming mule....

As there are many different techniques and thus end results in how to wrap your Mule with PC, I think it would be handy to have one thread maybe to collect links to tutorials on YT or other portals?

If I'm lucky enough to score a mule soon, I'd like to try a handle solution that I can remove and replace. It seems that sexbolts are the answer here? What size would you recommend for a mule with 1/4 thick scales...and what source?
Has anyone checked in on the Halperns’ schedule lately? I feel like it was mentioned that they expected to be restocked toward the end of April and here we are...

Xplorer and I are discussing the making of Kydex (& Holstex & Boltaron) sheaths in several threads, I thought I'd bring them together here. Xplorer posted a truly righteous post to help any of us get started with Kydex, you really should read it...

Just got my Spy27 Mule today. My very first one. Out of the box impressions are good. Scary sharp. Blade is nicely finished. Even grinds. Smaller than I initially thought it would be, but am extremely happy with the size. Ordered scales and sheath too....

I have owned a mule team knife for close to a year but never used it as an EDC. The main reason is I never bought the sheath for it. My lovely wife just bought me one of each and it made me think about which I would use first. Those of you who do carry a...
Hi all.
I'm pretty new here. I was attracted to Spyderco because of the recent mule buzz. Had two in my cart, went to hit checkout, and felt guilty due to the demand from true Spyderco fans. Felt like I was taking from those that deserve it more. ANyway,...
I don't own any S45VN. What can we expect from it? It's an incremental 'upgrade' in terms of corrosion resistance from S30V and S35VN, yes? Theoretically an increase in toughness due to fewer large chromium carbides forming--but modest toughness anyway...

I finally got a chance to get out and give my SPY27 Mule its first good usage. I gave it a quick wrap with some tarp twine I had but plan on putting a proper handle on it soon.
The factory edge came pretty sharp out of the box but it is definitely a...

I just got done with a several hour print of mule scales. I used a Anycubic Photon Zero sla resin 3d printer. They're printed translucent blue. I still need to clean off the supports and drill holes bigger.
This topic has a poll. by Bolster » Fri Apr 09, 2021 7:53 pm
This poll is to gauge the interest in the upcoming S45VN mule (similar to the concurrently running poll that is testing interest in MagnaCut). Poll open for 14 days from Fri Apr 9.
There seems to be a lot more discussion on Mule Team sales lately. It's been brought up that its hard to gauge how fast a particular Mule will sell. For example the PD#1 took 3 years to sell out but Spy27 did so in hours. Why would a series that's...
...or am I the only one who wants an AEB-L bodied mule?
Larrin says a form of AEB has been around since 1928! and AEB-L is a mid-1960s steel. I'm mostly interested in its toughness, up to 40 ft lbs, depending. Wow, what a stainless steel! Although it...
When you pin your scales to a mule, how do you do it?
(1) Get pins the size of the holes in the mule tang, use them like alignment pins, slide the scales on, and rely on the epoxy to keep scales and pins in place. Any pin material will do, brass,...

Started putting together my Mule Team package last night. Found that the G10 handle (Mule Team supply) has a footprint that does not cover the tang steel fully - the steel of the tang sticks out couple of milimeters on all sides. Anyone else with this...
I just wanted to share my success on a recent project for a unhanded Mule Team blade.
We all have seen plenty of paracord wrapped ones, but I have something extra to share in case anyone else may benefit...
I missed the last run as I was too slow and my cart was empty before I finished. A very generous member here made one available to me. Wow I was so thankful. I thought the chance to get my first one was gone. Yet here it was. So thank you for your...
Here’s a mule modified for lightweight backpacking. The index finger radius was reduced for comfort, the handle slimmed, the end bobbed & a middle oval ground. All edges heavily chamfered, then the handle was stonewashed (you can just see the two-tone...
Now that the SPY27 Mule is landing in mailboxes (and has already been in the hands of some lucky SFO-adjacent folks for a few days) it seems like a good time to set up a thread separate from the reveal and release date announcement ones....
