after too much time, I've finally managed to send my MULE to to put custom handles to one of my MULEs. It's their first MULE, and they're doing a great job so far. I asked them to make it removable to be able to swap the blade with future...
I have finaly found some time to take a pictures of the ZDP-189 Mule that I was lucky to pick-up from G.Sakai directly. It is with the convex edge and as sharp as a scalpel.
Made the handles to this under the cruel tutelage of Master Chief Mike Billman of Grindstone Cutlery in Fort Wayne In.
The handles are lexan with a blue wood ply to give it texture. The pins are stainless steel and there rest is a lot of TLC with 240,...
I guess this one is for Sal -since the mules are from golden and h1 is only on japanese knives, can mules be made in japan  please say there will be an H1 mule
Is there still an interest in screw on production scales for the Mules?? I almost have my brother convinced that he needs to make them for the Mules. He’s a machinist/manf. engineer/CAD jocky with his own CNC mill and stuff. I sent him a 52100 a...
So I was looking at the S90V Mule and noticed that the etching on it is different than other Golden knives I've seen. The words seem to mostly fade away with different angles and lighting. But they are very clear and dark if you move it another way or put...
Does anyone know if the Mule Team knives are the same steel from blade through to the end of the tang? I am assuming they are but you never know. Thanks.
I was thinking of ordering a sheet of carbon fiber to make a set of scales for my 52100 Mule. Is this an easy material to work with? I reckon I can just cut the shapes and sand the material down the same way as wood.
Should have my s90v shortly (cleared customs on the 18th), and already have material for the handles. The question here is what is the inner diameter of the larger holes, and are all the large holes the same size?
Just purchased a Mule Team (52100) from my local knife store. I got a numbered model its 122. I really know nothing about handle making or sheath making. So my first question is, what would be the best way to do this? Should I have someone else do this...
I've got a 52100 Mule Team, and am thinking of getting one in a super steel to trick out with nice scales and a sheath. Should I get the S90V, or wait for ZDP-189?
Hello, I have finally finished with my first project of creating handles for Mule. :)
It was really hard for a first time and I hope that my second will be better looking and less effort. All of the work was done by hand with no power-tools besides drill....
I am probably going to pick up a couple of the Mule knives, but was wondering about the blade. How do the dimensions compare to a full size Manix? It is hard to tell from pictures, but dimensions LOOK to be about the same.
I have a couple of mule teams on the way and am going to try making some handles for them. Does anyone know the size of the pin holes on the tang of the mule team?
I have a couple new Mules and and going to put handles on one and probably make leather sheaths for both of them. I have looked around all my local shops and haven't found any good materials to make them with.
So I was wondering if there are any...
This is my second Mule Team Knife and my second handle and sheath. I graduated to a band saw, drill press and belt sander this time. It made the whole process easier and more enjoyable. The wood handles were less forgiving than the canvas micarta that I...
Here's one of the mules going out to a friend. This goes to the guy responsible for getting me into Spyderco and a climbing partner of almost 18 years.
The sheath was done by Vess Leatherworks, he has the mule pattern now so anyone needing a nice sheath...
I know that the Mule series is for R&D and you know that most of us are primarily interested in folders. Please consider offering the Mule as a Tenacious blade, which it closely resembles, then we can buy a Tenacious and swap out the blade. Opening up a...
Who picked up a Factory Second MT02? I'm curious about the blems this run had. Are the blems as noticable on the M4 Mules, as they were on the MT01 52100 run?? Please post pics if you have them.
I am having a forum member make a mule for me (when you see the pics I am showing you, I am sure you will know who it is ;-) 2 I really like I am going to show you below and I want you to tell me which you would prefer. Before we even get to that, what do...
OK, so I don't know if any of you have seen my post about my tarnished mule ( ) but I think I fixed it.
I would not believe it if I had not seen it with my own eyes. I was eating a steak dinner that i had just prepared. I was using my Mule to slice up my...
I wish I would have waited for the new mule steel. I purchased the last mule and like an idiot got it wet because I had to wash my blood off it (that's another story).
I knew the last type of steel was prone to rust so I was concerned that my blood would...
I arrived at this forum too late to get the first two Mule Team releases. Once I learned of the program I immediately ordered a CPM-M4 factory second and it arrived this evening. There doesn't seem to be any flaws in the blade finish, although the hole...
Today my first Mule Team knife arrived. I love it. I will either be making scales for this myself or paying someone to do it. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to do the latter.
I figure that we don't often see pictures of a Mule Team knife with other...
