I was looking at the g10 Byrd lineup as a daily user at work. I noticed that there wasn’t a wharncliffe option In g10. Does anyone know if the blade would switch over from the wharncliffe frn to a g10 handled knife?
Hi
Recently I have been browsing web in search of small EDC knife when I came across some byrd and spyderco knives.
However I am concerned that they might be fake as on the one of the offers on the byrd robin knife there are weird holes in the scales...
Just picked up my first Byrd knife. I went with the Cara Cara 2 with the combination blade. After Day 1, I have to concur with those who have been as impressed with the Byrd line as I now am. Fit and finish, build quality, opening and lock up are all spot...
This is my second Byrd 8Cr13moV knife, I lost my last one
The problem is I have arthritis in my thumbs which makes it very hard to open the knife.
My last one was not as bad as this one although my husband has one I cannot open.
Is there anything I can...
It's coming and it's pointy ! Thank you Sal ! Perfect blade size and shape for me ... I shall purchase the combo variant ! Bring in the LW ones in different colors please !
Look just before the finger guard. We got some contouring on the FRN Harrier instead of the edges all being blocky. I like this direction! I assume we won't see it changed on the others because it's expensive to change the molds. But this is awesome.
I carried a byrd Cara Cara 2 for about half a decade after I lost my endura3 and couldn’t justify spending money on a new knife. Over All they are excellent knives as users, I would go as far as to say I can’t justify buying a VG-10 spyderco over a...
Hey Spyderco team!
What are the chances of getting a biiig Byrd like a police4?
I really like the finger choil and I think it’s be pretty cool on a big knife like that!
So I've been hesitant in purchasing a Byrd knife. My reason being, budget knives are okay for either risky endeavors (high chance of losing) or beaters.
Buck knives have generally been my go to for cheap readily available options in the risky (traveling...
I stumbled upon the model while looking at backlogs of the digital catalogs.
It looks great for backpackers and even just for around town. A lil'8Cr sheepsfoot, a Bic, and a bottle opener. Real handy all around. Best of all, it was pretty economical....
Many Spyderco models that come default with a stainless steel can also be had with a carbon steel. As either a sprint/exclusive or perennial option. It would be great if Byrd got in on the fun too, especially if they did it in the Byrd-style budget...
Byrd noob here. I only have one, a Tern that I bought used and cheap, mainly to check out the Byrd concept. The blade is not very strongly biased to either the open or closed position. Unlike my UKPKs, it's almost uncomfortably easy to close. Is this...
Who is ready for new Byrd models? With the price creep of Spydies at a higher rate each year, it seems like the market for more affordable knives grows. I'd like to see Spyderco take Byrd up a notch and make them competitive with some other budget lines....
1. I'd like to see more CTSBD1 used. I'd really like to see this steel offered in the Cara Cara....at least the Ti version. 8Cr works for me, but I appreciate the extra corrosion resistance of BD1.
2. Fixed blades. One of my most frequently EDC'd knives...
Is a blade swap possible, to make a hawkbill with stainless scales? I don't see screws in any pictures, so I'm guessing it can't be disassembled... but was just hoping for confirmation.
I love my hawkbill with titanium scales, but the titanium provides a...
I just got a Hawkbill byrd yesterday and I'm already thinking that I need a couple more because I think that it is such a well made utilitarian pocket knife at a very affordable price. It's sturdy and lightweight and an extremely powerful cutting tool. I...
Pardon me if this question has already been addressed but does anyone know why we don't have any FFG options when it comes to fully serrated byrd knives?
I've been carrying the Byrd Cara Cara Rescue lately and I think the byrd Serration pattern is hands...
Just taking a moment to talk about the Hawkbill. It is one of my two byrds (the other a ss robin)...and I can't believe the amount of knife you get for the money (right at $20) in the Hawkbill. While I like the robin...because it is the ss version (while...
People often ask for steel upgrades in the Byrd and Budget line knives. The swap to an American steel has apparently been a bit troublesome and costly. Have you looked at 9Cr18Mo recently? I recall that back when the mule was produced, there...
Is it common practice for Byrd scales to be glued to the liners? I just took my Cara Cara 2 apart and both scales are glued. I can't see how this is beneficial in anyway. I bought it new at an authorized dealer.
Great thin slice-y option with a blade and handle length intermediate in length between Delica and Endura. For day-to-day use I appreciate the less swept point of the Delica/Endura profile much more than I...
