Re: Spyderco Knife Of The Year 2017
Chinook 4. In my pocket right now on NYE in the freezing cold, on duty since day 1.

Nice. I haven't gone for seconds yet, but each day I get close to taking the plunge. Mine has been in my pocket most days since September. Are both of yours good samples?Chinook3 wrote:Last Spydie of 2017......

Schempp Bowie and Chinook 4. Everyone gasped when I pulled out the Bowie to cut a tag off a sweater.

Re: CPM 10V vs. K390 - Patina
10V really is nice stuff. At first I was taking care of it, but now I just treat it the same as I would S30V or VG10. K390 seems to be another beast in this regard.
I'm really hoping we see 10V again. If not in a production knife, at least a sprint run of something like the Military.

CPM 10V vs. K390 - Patina
Howdy, I recently got a Police 4. From what I have read, K390 and CPM 10V are supposed to be essentially the same, however I am finding that my newly acquired K390 steel patina's much more readily than 10V. I have two K2's in 10V. Both just came in the regular bubble bag you see with knives coming f...

Re: I wish Spyderco would make...
1. A fixed blade Shabaria, with a blade over 4 inches. 2. Sprint runs of the previous Chinook iterations. 3. The XL version of the Persian. 4. The XL version of the Schempp Bowie. I'd like to see more Power Locks. The one on my Chinook 4 has me sold. Of course, I'm still waiting for the Native Chief...

Re: Shabaria review
Nice pieces Brj. The Ethnic series actually began with Eduard Bradichansky. I fact I would have to give him credit for the idea of taking a historic or geographic specific design and make a modern folder. A brilliant man. He was a model manker by trade. His "credit Card Knife" was also wa...

Re: Police4 FRN ETA
I've never been a big FRN nut, but I think y'all might be onto something here. The Police 4 is a nice knife, and more variations of it are welcome, especially if they can be had for less. I like the dark blue FRN idea. (Still waiting for a nice navy blue G10 sometime.) I'd like to see some nice stai...

Re: New catalog wish list...
I'm wishing there isn't anything I want to purchase in the 2018 catalog. I bought quite a few this year; really more than I should have considering they are well built and should last any reasonable lifetime with even basic care. That being said, I really wish the Native Chief is not in the calendar...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Police 4. As much as I love the military, it is not a potato peeler. It was the 3mm blade stock that won me in the end. I had to try it out. It helps that I like lock backs and the steel was K390 (I love 10v, love it!). Also, it was the right size. I love the Chinook 4 that came about the same time....

Can't wait to see the Chief. I think the upcoming calendar would be a stretch, but it appears to finally be on the horizon now that the Shaman is here.

I laughed. Terry's come a long way. I think its nice we can have a chuckle in the face of adversity sometimes.Cheddarnut wrote:Heres a link for the model pictured in Blade Runner 1980: http://www.foxcutlery.com/n/en/product/ ... i.htmlReal Blade Runner.jpg

Re: Discontinued For 2018 - OFFICIAL List
I'm wondering if they are winding down the two current TI Millie options, and will come back with one single TI option. Maybe a TI RIL with a regular G10 scale on the presentation side, to keep cost and weight down? There are many places this can go. They disco'd the regular PITS before they came ou...

Re: Name a Spyderco knife you fell out of love with ;)
I too have fallen out of love with the PM2. We used to spend every day together. My eyes began to wander over time. One day I saw the Military. I could not look away. I kept coming back for another look, then another. Eventually I bought one. The Military fits my hand perfectly. We've been together ...

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
I thought I'd be all over this one, but I'm not. I certainly feel I should buy one to compensate for all of the annoying posts I've posted about the Shaman over time! Maybe I'll feel different about it later. Seems like a nice workhorse. I like black clips. The stone wash is nice for some, but I'm a...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Street Beat. Always wanted one. Hummed and hawed for years, then the 2018 discontinued list forced my hand. Looked at the TI Millie as well, but ultimately decided I had enough S30V Millie's.

Looks like its time to get that TI Military. I wonder, does this mean no more TI Militaries, or is there another TI Military option on the horizon?

Re: C41GPFGR5 S90V Native 5 KC Exclusive
Just saw this on the KC site. Not sure how I missed this here. I'm tempted. Linerless, forest green G10, S90V, and black clip. I have the regular S35V G10 and blurple G10, as well as an original S30V Native (nice and light, in my front pocket right now). Seems super special, to me at least. Likely w...
