My first Spyderco was a Hunter, which I believe is the all stainless steel version (no rubber insert). It still serves me well. Anybody else with a Hunter?

Back of linerlock not flush w/ rest of handle.

I have a ~10 year old Spyderco Hunter, and was wondering about some slight play in the knife, in the locked position. Also, in the locked position, the back of the linerlock is not flush with the rest of the handle. I would stay it stand about 1/32" above the rest of the handle. It still locks,...

Scolby, Thanks for your post. Very insightful. I have to agree with you on the thumb stud versus a Spydie hole. This has got to be my biggest gripe. I'm not sold on the liner lock however. I didn't get to play with it for very long, so I could easily be mistaken. The way I handled it, to unlock the ...

Thanks for the word on the ~$50 bucks I missed out on. Honestly, I don't feel awful, because I'm not in to selling on ebay, trading across the internet, etc. It was VERY convenient for me to do the swap locally, less than 1/4 mile from my house. I won't really miss the Civi, ONLY because I'm not a c...

Bob Lum Chinese Folder vs. .. BM Osbourne 942

Hello again, A while ago, I posted about an old Spyderco Tufram Civi' I owned. I talked about trading it for something more useable on a daily basis. Welp' I did it. I had the opportunity to trade it for a green handled lum Chinese Folder, or a BM Osbourne 942. I went for the BM, mostly because I li...

okay.. or cricket or mouse? I know there's a thread on this already below, but I wanted to put it in context of the native and dragonfly already.

Seems spyderco makes so many nice choices for us, I just want to narrow them down for myself, based on the broad experience of this forum.

Thanks again.

Thanks.

I read all 4 pages, and nobody else's first was a Hunter? That was mine. Then a Lady Bug, Police Model, and then Civilian Model.

My Civilian

Is aluminum, w/ a titanium oxide coating, and kraton grip inserts. Does this sound right? I bought it years and years ago, and can't find an official description of this version of the Civilian. I believe this version is no longer sold. There are a few minor scratches on the handle only, and I was w...
