Re: Is it getting close to a new Goddard sprint run?

Any steel is fine (preferably in stainless). Micarta or G-10 would be great, especially if screw-together construction.

Re: EDC style fixed blade (sketched concept design)

Very nice design you have there, Tristan. It looks like it would be very comfortable in-hand. I like the slightly negative blade angle as well. Nice work! For handle hardware, you might want to check out KnifeKits.com. They have a pretty nice selection of fasteners in various sizes and configuration...

Re: Has anyone heard from SG89?

I've been wondering the same too. Hopefully all is well and she's just busy? I'm with Dan, though; If she doesn't resurface soon, a noble search party may be in order! ;)

I haven't seen Paul (The Deacon) here for quite a while too.

Re: Favorite horror movies?

Just watched "Fall" with my wife last night. (Produced by the same people who made the movie "47 Meters Down"). "Fall" was terrifying. I literally had sweaty palms the entire time we watched it.

Re: Cost of Steel

I've definitely noticed a variation in steel pricing between certain types of steel. Depending on size and thickness, certain steels (i.e. AEB-L, D2, and ATS-34) can be fairly inexpensive. However certain steels like CTS-XHP, S90V, Cruwear, MagaCut, etc., can fetch some hefty prices. For example: La...

Very cool! Those turned out pretty sweet. I like the G.I. Joe etch too. I just received a new sand blast cabinet for Christmas, so I’ll definitely be doing some blasting here in the near future. LC, what type of glass bead media do you prefer to use? I wish I could tell you specifically what I used...

Re: Curious, whats everyone's edc backpack?

I’ve been very impressed with my Osprey backpack. Specifically, the Osprey Porter 30. (See dimensions/specs at bottom). I wanted something relatively smallish that could serve as a carry-on pack for when we fly and I think this pack accomplishes this quite well. I love how it has three primary compa...

Re: Just for fun, who here is NOT on social media?

Facebook and Instagram are the only two platforms that I use on an occasional basis. I use them solely for posting pictures of knives that I’ve made and they work pretty well for that purpose. I guess I did use Twitter one time to participate in a contest for Spyderco many years ago, but haven’t use...

Re: Amsterdam meet.

Seems like the change in how knives are revealed has killed this concept. I'll be totally honest I would rather go back to the uncertainty of when models are coming out and have this meet with all the awesome prototype pics like we've always had in the past vs the current reveal process. It was lik...

Re: PM2 exclusive alerts and the horrible app

I gave up using it as I had nothing but trouble. Then surprise a bunch of alerts came through. I reality I want the printed catalogue and reveals. They work better for us to discuss purchases. I prefer the printed materials too. Electronic is fine for a quick reference, but printed makes it easier ...
