As I understand it - the purpose of the original invitation was to express interest to allow Spyderco to measure interest and adjust production accordingly.

I have faith that things will work out.

The scales on the one with a handle are made from G-10. The Boltaron (high line Kydex) sheaths were made by Scott Gere. Mike Sastre also has a sample of the model as well. I don't know if anyone is planning on making scales, although it's not all that hard to make your own. All of the models will b...

Hubba - hubba!

Time for me to start figuring out scales!

Do you plan to have the same handle profile for all the Mule Team iterations? I'm interested so I know whether the scales I'll make will be "one size fits all".

Thanks! :D

I agree with Les using a multitool. He tends to be somewhat inventive/creative in his solutions to problems. A multitool fits that approach.

If Bear needs a different/better knife - I'm sure he can borrow on from his support crew. They are only steps away....

The economics of a knife either work - or they don't. Being a product company - (unique cases aside) Spyderco needs to take an approach where a model stands on its own and pays its own freight or its needs to be discontinued. The "enthusiast" fringe makes up on a tiny fraction of consumers...

I generally (I'll explain this in a minute) put my steel inside a lockable gun case then put a padlock on it. I also put a starter's gun in the same case and declare it at the counter. I have found that Airlines are very diligent about making certain that a declared gun in luggage gets to the owner...

Traveling by Air with a Knife

When you travel by air - how do you make sure you knife will be in your luggae at the other end? Since so much luggage is Xrayed and the fact that there is a knife(s) in your checked luggage isn't a secret - what do you do to lessen the chances that your knives might be stolen from your luggage? Tha...

A Yahoo search using the terms (from the original post of this thread):

produced a number of hits - the first first of which is the Spyderco Forum thread referenced/linked above.

Great news. I can live with specs before or after the mule is available (I see both sides). It would be helpful to mark the steel code in a place that any custom scales we might apply won't obscure it.

I look forward to the first one!
