IMO the colors make the knives more socially acceptable. And a little customized, I suppose.
I'll confess to something of an anti-tacticool bias, that may have something to do with it. (Though I'll also confess the black DLC blade on the PM2 seems to be calling my name ... )

I thought I couldn't dare mention a byrd flipper - a line you don't cross. But I also think it would be an interesting idea, to have a lightweight knife with a narrower width, but with the ergos of either (or both) of the FRN or G10 handles, and a nice FFG. A much better alternative to the Kershaw S...
