Re: Police 4 K390 SE Testing Log

Yes, it does deserve a bump! Should have done this myself when I linked this very thread recently here https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=95747#p1751776 (also quite some info about sharpening serrated K390). I am close to getting a K390 Endura SE myself now... seems like especially ...

Re: Does anyone here ride motorcycles?!?

Springtime down under. Looks like you got some rain. Everything looks perked up. We have had 3 years of great seasons and the whole landscape looks amazing. All the wild life and vegetation is absolutely booming. This is part of my patch for work and my wife was super keen to come out and have a lo...

Don't be silly, no one hates you, it's just knives not brain surgery
You could use them for brain surgery though.

Re: Crucarta Manix 2

I was excited to see this but then disappointed to see the weight. I wish they had used the skeletonised liners found on all but the base S30V model. 4.9oz is just too heavy for such a small knife on my opinion.

Yes, and the Lil Temperance's blade is thicker than even the Ayoob, considerably.
Much more acute and slicey primary grind on the Lil' Temp though.

Re: The more I carry and use the UKPK the more I like it

I've got the leaf shape blade version of this knife from the original drop a few years ago. Count me in as the UKPK being an amazing knife, for a great price! Top 3 for me with ergos. Melts right into my hand. Thin blade, light weight and narrow knife. One of the few I like the wire clip on. I hate...

Re: Any love for the Watu?

Bought one of these when they were discoed and have no idea now why I waited so long. It is an awesome knife. Very slicey, very comfortable, exemplary fit and finish and mine has a good detent. It is an outstanding edc knife and works surprisingly well for food prep. Not a heavy duty knife but I hav...

Re: Favorite 3” in house spyderco folder?

I like all these knives but the Native is king for me. I prefer to carry knives this size clipless and like a backlock for the self closing bias. The Delica is a great slicer but the Native is just more robust and ergonomic and I like it better if it is the only knife I have on me.

Re: The Sage: A stellar EDC

... it just doesn't take my fancy for some reason. The aesthetics don't really appeal and while it's great in the choil grip, I don't like the grip behind the choil. Even though they are all too small for my hand held like this, the Para 3 and Native 5 work better. I think I would like the Sage mor...

Re: The Sage: A stellar EDC

^^ You guys have nailed it. I have a Sage 5 LW and it is the most perfectly executed compression lock I have, I don't mind S30V, with a black clip it is unobtrusive in pocket and I feel like it could stand up to some heavy use if pushed. I use it sometimes when I need a low key work knife. Yet... it...

Military I would say the same except that I only really feel safe with backlocks in my pants or jacket pocket on the bike. Do you worry about this when you are riding? I am about to head out for a 3 week trip into far western Queensland and I'll be carrying a Siren in the jacket and SE Magnacut N5 ...

In another post a while back, I asked about the salt and was told by a few people in not so many words that h1 is the way to go. Now people are raving about lc200. What gives? WHich one is truly better?

Re: Your EDC List

I hate carrying any more than I have to. I can't believe the crap that some people carry, it must be really uncomfortable. If I have to carry a key, I carry it singly rather than on a ring. My daily edc is a knife and a handkerchief. I guess it is different if I count my bike jacket - wallet, Salt k...

Re: Am I missing out on S110V?

It's obviously a generalization and it really depends on many factors how low you can ultimately take things. That said, you didn't specify what sort of polish you are running on the apex. This is really what edge stability is referring to, how well it can take a polished apex. I believe polished t...

Re: Am I missing out on S110V?

If this were in fact true, you could run this steel at geometries which are literally half the included angle of what the factory runs. If you believe it is in fact a high stability steel, I would suggest proving that to yourself in practice : reprofile the edge and test the results and see if you ...

Re: SE MagnaCut Testing Thread

How's the SE Native's holding up within the forum members? I've only had mine a little over a month but I'm impressed so far. I have a number of Seki Salts in both H1 and LC200N and the Magnacut N5 is superior in a number of respects. Firstly it is much more acutely ground - under 15° - so no repro...

Love the knife, hated the colour.

Dark green over the yellow. Turned out a bit lighter than expected but I like it.
