Incredible,,, I ordered one a few minutes after DLT opened page,,,, less than 30 minutes to sell out???
Already have a CTS 204P and two M390 PM2 knives,, could not resist the excellent pricing.

Re: 1 new Military released all of 2018?
Absolutely,,, first rule of retail sales,,, if it does not move quickly,,,, drop the product. Holding inventory for a long time is not smart business. The C36 Military is one of my favorite Spyderco models however, the popularity has dropped off over the past 3-4 years. Regards, FK Member since Feb ...

Re: 1 new Military released all of 2018?
JD Spydo, I am surprised you did not purchase your BUU from KW, the M390 steel is identical to CTS 204P, which was an exclusive from KW and sold out at about $180 until deplete a few weeks ago. Introduced in May 2016, it was in inventory for over two years as an exclusive and was one of the first is...

Re: Spyderco civilian why not EDC?
I had a C12 Civilian in the early 1990's,,, was always concerned about the weak tip breaking and did not use it very often. Suggest a Spyder Hawk, less expensive and has thicker tip with H1 steel. Essentially the same blade shape and size as C12. Yes, Spyderco will sharpen the SE blade for a small f...

How much work to remove the black DLC coating?

Re: Sharpening hap40 wharncliffe
+1 on recommendation to use a flat bench stone, it will maintain the point and straight line edge much better than the SM. The Spyderco double stuff with brown and white stones combined is only $30 and the brown stone single is $18. The 1" x 5" size if fine for the Delica Wharnclifffe. Reg...

Re: Steel inserts on titanium lockfaces, are they necessary?
YES,,,, sticky locks are annoying.
I have owned 8-9 CRK Sebenza and 4-5 other custom Ti liner locks over the past 20 years.
All had some degree of sticky and required attention to tension or lubrication on the lock face.

Re: Thumb Ramp Placement
Thumb ramp position is not very important to me. It is more comfortable for thumb opening than without a thumb ramp/hump designed blade shape.- I do very little, if any, stabbing cuts,,,, mainly used for slicing motions both forward and back. Holding thumb and forefinger on the knife sides is most c...

"Is the hole a patented thing or a trademarked thing? IIRC patents run out after a while, but trademarks do not?"
In the USA a trademark lasts for 10 years then it can be renewed after every 10 years for the life of the product.

EvilD, Research ball and roller bearing design. Larger does not change tolerances, they are still very small. Grit and dirt will jam up the balls/rollers in any bearing. The grit and dirt does not float around between the ball bearings,,, it grinds away the race contact surfaces. Purchase a inexpens...
