Re: Bradley folder - how to fix weak detent

An alternative and less risky solution is to simply bend the lock bar to apply more pressure to the detent.

Re: Clad K390

I believe the Seki-City models with clad blades are only steels from the Japanese kitchen knife industry. There is just not enough volume to make a special run of K390 with clad layers to justify the cost. If the Japanese kitchen knives have enough demand in the future we may see availability. At pr...

The ideal Military for boating especially on salt water is the S110V.

Re: 52100 Millie, tell me the good the bad and the ugly I’m considering getting one

Vivi, Weak detent can by adjusted by taking apart knife and bending the locking bar to add additional pressure. We discussed this issue in May 2021, did you not not follow up and attempt to modify ? Ulltimate solution = nylon belt pouch,,, BM has one that fits perfectly with Military. Eliminates sna...

Re: We need more Millie’s

If Spyderco decides to produce a Military blade with compression lock, micarta with full liners, please call it Para XL. Fidget fans will rejoice and power snap it open constantly.
I will not be interested in purchase of this design.

Re: Knife Joy 20CV Wharncliffe Delica

Ordered fast and smooth,,,, two on the way. Initially I was ho-hum on the Delica Wharncliffe. Now having used my HAP-40 Wharn for about one month,,, really like the blade shape and cutting action for EDC. Upper LH shirt pocket for easy access and less snagging on seat belts, car doors and various ot...

Re: We need more Millie’s

My problem with compression lock Military models is that it will take away from production capacity for the traditional CQI liner locks.

I agree, a full liner both sides to accommodate the micarta would be a backwards step in design.

Re: New to K390. Initial impressions=Impressed. blood warning.

My solution for rust vs protective coating vs food safe. Carry in RH front pants pocket Endura with CPM 20CV for food,,, cut up bagel with tea every morning. Dunk blade in the tea and wipe down with napkin to keep gunk free. In nylon belt pouch,,, K390 Stretch or Delica coated with EDCi for utility....

Re: We need more Millie’s

My first Military was in the late 1990's in CPM 440V, had 3 of them including the Spyderco Forum 2000 special with inlayed MOP bug in the G-10. Foolishly sold them off in favor of Sebenza. Quickly became tired of thumb shredding pins in blade for opening. Presently have nice collection of early mode...

Re: What's your favorite model to OPEN?

Military CQI with 52100 -- Clacks open with authority, wonderful.
Delica/Endura very familiar daily use and comfortable sound. Super smooth with Gunny Glide.

PM2/Para 3 - boring,,, lost interest.

Re: Ack! Both Pac Salt 2 SE variants are on sale. Help me decide!

"Do you find the lack of washers makes opening and closing the Pac Salt get stiffer and more difficult over time? And if so, do you tear and down and clean it up?" I use Gunny Glide on the pivot area, absolutely smooth and no change over time. Any pivot lub that is long lasting will be an...

Re: Sharpening ZDP-189

I struggled with my first ZDP-189 due to retained burr. It was stubborn to detect and remove. Sharpening on DMT diamonds and a slow careful light pressure routine solved the problem with "not sharp apex". Suggest a 10x eye loop and small LED flashlight to inspect for burr. ZDP-189 will sha...

NO
Prefer a bright steel without oxidation.
Use EDCi, Nano-Oil, Ren Wax or other protection.

Re: Delica 4/Dragonfly 2 blade play

I have found on Seki-City lock backs, some adjusting of the lock bar screw also affects the action especially the tightness of blade to free drop vs lateral play.

Re: Spyderco's ATS-55 Era of the late 90s

I have two of the Endura 3 with full SE, tough knives.
Purchase them used with missing clips, great price,,,, Spyderco has replacement clips and bolt/nut assemblies available.

Still regret giving away my two minty G-10 Harpy knives.
