They're really different knives. Get both obviously, but get the Sage 3 first. I don't want you to end up falling too much in love with the PM2 as many seem to do, and never experience the Sage 3. I would grab the PM2 now if I were you and get some of the brown S35VN models that are floating around or the Green ELMAX at Bento Box Shop. Thats if you think you will get into sprints and exclusives...The sage isn't going anywhere...

yup, I haven't done mine but I know they make aftermarket backpackers so I know it comes completely apart. It is not a pinned construction.
