I gave a Delica to my next door neighbor for his birthday. When he opened it at the party -- some eyes got pretty wide. One guy said, "That's a weapon!" Come to think of it, I believe the first :spyder: I ever received as a gift was pretty recent -- my wife got me a Dodo f...

Sal, I would have preferred 4-way on the Para as I tend to like tip-up better. Glad the Manix and Chinook II came that way. On such purely functional knives, I have no objection to the appearance of the extra holes. The only wire clip I have is the Dodo. I will never lose the Dodo! The wire clip in ...

You'll quickly learn that the 20 stroke per surface standard is sort of arbitrary -- it may take more, and for touch ups all that may be needed is a few strokes on the flats. Also, if it happens (as it sometimes does does) that a non-Spyderco knife has an edge bevel on one side of 21 degrees, and th...

I'll second that. David, if you ever come to Columbus, Ohio, be sure to check out River's Edge, 2863 Festival Lane (in shopping mall at corner of 161 and Samill Road). For better directions call (614) 792-3343

I've found that New Graham (http://www.newgraham.com) has low prices plus very reliable, fast shipping and great customer service. My advice: you'll want all of these qualities in an online dealer -- don't just go with the lowest price you find.

Dodo

Hey Fisher of Men you forgot the Dodo!!! The Dodo Sir the Dodo!!! If you are going to build an arsenal of small blades then you must have the Dodo. It is not an option it is mandatory!!!!!! :D :D Agreed. It's a brilliant design. I have a blue PE and a black SE may be next. I hope all's going well f...

Ohio

As I understand it, there's no length limit in Ohio. But a knife cannot be carried as a weapon here. It's a weapon if (a) it was specially designed to be a weapon; or (b) it is carried with the intention of using it as a weapon. Note that the law doesn't make a distinction between an offensive weapo...

You mention two problems: (1) off center blade, and (2) hard to open. The first has probably been discussed to death at this point. As for the second, I got a Delica that started out stiff (but smooth) or "hard to open." After about 1000 openings, it was fine. So once in a while the pivot ...

Mainix

I got my second one a couple of days ago -- this one has the Phosphor Bronze washers. I gave it a little shot of Miltec and held the a hair dryer on the pivot end for about 20 seconds. Soooo smooooooth. :D

That's great Joyce. Aside from the fact that I'm pleased with the final result, I have to say that Ms. Amanda is very professional and a fine representative for Spyderco.

I've gotta get mine back in my pocket -- it's nice to be able to switch from the more "tactical" offerings of Spyderco. I have to admit that Simona's pics on BF had a role in my decision to get one. You won't regret it if you follow suit.

At home:

PE Manix or BM710HS, sometimes along with
scary sharp Calypso, Jr. or small Sebenza,
and usually a Victorinox Tinker

At work:

Used to carry SS PE Dragonfly or BM Big Spender,
now I'm EDCing a blue PE Dodo
(I've got a strict blade length limit at work)

Thanks Senate. I was looking at it more last night and I'm now certain that those washers are PB. I had no problem with the Kapton washers, but this is an upgrade IMHO. Icing on the cake. They're out there -- go get 'em! :D After some of the recent posts about knives with flaws, I'd like to point ou...

Could my new Manix have PB washers?

Just got it today, fresh from the local store's distributor. 1. The gap between the blade and the liner looks slightly bigger. 2 I could be wrong, but I think I see the telltale bronze color when I hold it up to a light at just the right angle. 3. The action is very smooth but slightly tight, but wi...
