If you do a search on the Spyderco SpyderSaw on this forum, you'll find some different opinions and results on its performance. I've tried using it a few more times on different woods, and while it's been better (Not binding as much) than that first test, it hasn't performed that much better. Maybe...

I've used that style before. It takes some time to assemble, but it works quite well, yes.skunk_2 wrote:these are the best backpack saws imo! this is a whole new league

Have you every tried holding a Micro Dyad, or any of the other Dyads for that matter, in you left hand and opening it? I'm betting you never have, otherwise you would not have asked that question. I've always just opened my MD with both hands because it's so small. *tries* Okay, I see what you're t...

I have one and carry it sometimes, but the blades stick out way too far from the handle when closed to make it comfortable. The finish is lacking too, especially for what it cost -- some of the pins that hold the bone in place weren't flattened, and stick out far enough to be annoying. In general, t...

The Great Saw Off
As far as I know, Spyderco has only released 2 products with saws: The T02 Spydersaw, and the byrd BY13 Tool Harp. I decided to take both out for a spin, along with the Victorinox saw (The best small folding saw blade I've used) in the form of my trusty Pioneer Harvester. http://raevnos.pennmush.org...

I have a PE Crossbill that's nice for breaking down boxes, but in general, I much prefer SE on hawkbills -- my Spyderhawk, Tasman, and of course Ladyhawk all have teeth. I mostly use the big ones on vegetation, where the serrations really help. The Ladybug Hawk mostly gets used on opening packages, ...

It's a fun blade, but too big for EDC (At least, for me. There are people here who think nothing of shoving it down their pants and carrying IWB. I try that, and I can't sit down!), and I don't do a lot of bushcrafty stuff using a knife (My woodsy knife requirements tend to either lean bigger into m...

I have one of the D2 Paras, and while it took me a long time to warm up to it (I'm a tip-up clip person), eventually something clicked after I made myself carry it for a while, and now it's a design I like a lot. Except for the clip (Mine came with a stripped screw on the clip, too, so I can't remov...

Yep. Folks do seem to like it. Which makes me wonder if I'm the only one who was surprised that Spyderco is using GIN-1 rather than 154CM for the FRN UKPK's? I vaguely remember seeing a post from Sal saying that Hitachi had stopped making GIN-1, which made it quite surprising. Maybe they found a st...
