Opposition

Check the east around nine o'clock in the evening. Check the bright star; it's the planet Jupiter. If you have a pair of good binoculars you can see its four largest moons as small dots left and right of the planets sphere.

back to the Spydies again!

Patina is a discoloration of the steel caused by any material it contacts with, even air. If you cut a lemon with a non- of semi-stainless steel it causes this discoloration or patina. I read that mustard (because it contains vinegar, acid) causes these stains or patina on these steels. I think I wi...

Bronze-phosphor or teflon? Walker ZDP

Last week I bought a Walker ZDP. It has teflon washers. I was wondering why they made the choice of teflon over bronze-phosphor on this exclusive and expensive model. I can't see it has something to do with reaction of two different metals resulting in oxidation because the blue ZDP-FRN Stretch does...

Hi guys, today I bought the Walker at my local gunstore for a good price (never pay the price they ask) here in the Netherlands. I was aware of the ´CF-matter' thanks to all you here, but I just wanted the blade. For being a Spyderco, being a Walker and having both ZDP and CF. Luckily I was able to ...

Thanks guys sofar. Well, favorite are the japanese-steel blades, particular VG-10 blades. However this morning I picked up a Walker CF by my local weaponsdealer. I read here about the bad drilled holes in the CF but I was lucky enough he had two so I could choose the best :) Charming light little cu...

Introduce myself

Hi there, It took a while but I finally signed up for this forum. Here a short introduction of myself. Tomas, male, almost 40, over 15 years infected with the Spyder-virus. It began in 1994 with a Pro-Venator, there I saw the light. My first impression of Spydies was 'wow, those knives are ugly'. It...
