Not a better test than to give a knife to a non knife person. Sharpen a knife everytime that was new many years ago, for a fella at work. The condition this guy gives it to me everytime it needs a sharpening. :woozy (Good kid but he is “passed the teaching to sharpen threshold” as he has the attenti...

Try a local knifemaker who can make a kydex sheath. Or just look for someone that works in kydex.

I will never forget creating one particular piece of trash pictured below. I cut multiple pairs of :winking-tongue jeans into dozens of swatches, made my own denim "micarta", stabilized some cocobolo (or, tried...that was a separate learning experience), worked it all into a handle with 3...

I have a done it wrong draw :shush Assuming you meant drawer, (I am not fully fluent in Australian yet :winking-tongue ) I too have one of those. It's overflowing with handles and a few blades I messed up along the way, and the bottom is probably still wet from the tears of the first few times I th...

That's years of experience packed into a few sentences and I'm very grateful. Man, you've managed to put words on a feeling I've always had when talking with Chad ! I can't say how grateful I am for every bit of knowledge he kindly shared with me, and everyone else here. Thank you both, sincerely. ...

Re: epoxy, dry, then install screws - from the few videos I've seen of makers putting handles on (not Mule Team blades), they screwed on the pins right at the beginning, before drying. Do I have it wrong or is this something different about Mule Teams? If I let it dry w/o the pins, could the scales...

Being a fisherman it was H1 Salts that converted me to Spyderco in the early 90s
Steels kept me buying.

Great set up… Having the same handle scales. It fits in the Boltron sheath pretty snug. It would be easy to pin and epoxy the scales. Just drill out the holes to the widest point and use a same size pin. Some epoxy a pin and a few clamps it would take a few minutes to do. https://files.catbox.moe/h0...

How does everyone feel about Ultem? Hmm Ultem could kind of be the burnt amber. Right? Amber is pretty accurate. https://i.imgur.com/3Z65Jf5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PkzqRhf.jpg So I keep reading and trying to build upon current ideas. So I am wondering if the knife was a non-locking PM2 or 3 would ...

Great that Spyderco has up’d their social media game.
Think it’s good to see past, present and future.
It’s not all about needing that knife.
(Makes me feel better for all the discontinued knives I have purchased over the years )

Re: What makes a knife good?
To me it’s all about a good steel.
Spyderco is a company that is well known for the best steel selection
H1 was what mostly brought me to Spyderco in the early days.
The GB1 and M4 is the one that had me hooked on the brand.

So had an older mate who is a huge fishing nut, and he saw these somewhere and has asked about buying one.
Not being in the states or a sprint chaser, so how would say a sprint of these work….(ie; where would you buy one ??)

Having some colour printing done for the Mrs side gig (dancing teacher)
Man is printing something in full colour expensive nowadays
Have always said on watch forums (and would apply this to everything I have and would buy)
“ if a plain box or even a brown paper bag makes it cheaper, I’m in”

Pocket knives go in pocket…don’t over think it. The occasional spa treatment will sort out anything.
