An excellent knife! :D

My Tasman has become part of my "Indispensable EDC"; the knives that I just cannot leave home without.

What kind did you get? Black? Yellow? PE? SE?

As other people have said, they are an excellent knife for the price you pay. I find that the Byrd steel has excellent edge retention. The corrosion resistance isn't as good as VG-10, but it's nothing unmanageable. In addition, Byrd steel has a fine grain structure, and I can get it hair-popp...

I like the design of the Rocklobster, but I probably will not be getting one, due to the fact that I really have no need or want for large folders (I have small hands, and the Superhawk is about the largest I'm comfortable with :p ).

I can certainly understand the use of red in Trainer models. I also wish that regular models used red, as it's an awesome color. However, I don't do any Martial training, so I can't speak with any authority as to the possible repercussions. I'm sure that Sal must have a reason for only using red in ...

Only problem is, my parents and inlaws keep cutting themselves on their gift Spydies. They aren't quite certain how to handle a sharp kitchen knife I guess. When I first got my Kitchen Spydies, I cut myself a couple of times as well. An entire lifetime of using dull kitchen knives really throws off...

I have the Yin/Yang set, and they are awesome pieces of engineering! That VG-10 gets dang sharp! :D Together, they can handle pretty much anything I throw at them. The only real instances where I find myself wishing for different knives are: 1. Paring. They're a little too big for those delicate job...

I've always felt like the "Proof" videos are trying too hard to prove their point, and that normally means something.

I would say that for something like zip-ties, there honestly wouldn't be any noticeable difference. FFG really shows its worth in situations where you'll be pushing the whole blade through the material (for instance: cutting cardboard). Zip-ties aren't even going to push past the serration scallops....

You asked a question, you got responses that consisted of people's opinions ; it stands to reason that some people's opinions won't mesh with your own. As far as I can see, nobody said anything putting you down, they were just giving their opinion that they thought it was a bad idea if you were goin...

I had been one of those people who never realized the true value of a good knife. Well, after burning through yet another $15 cheapo knife, I decided that it was time to get something a little more worthwhile. I started researching brands, and Spyderco was actually one of the first that I came acros...

The only ZDP Spydie I have is my CF Caly3, and it is absolutely the sharpest knife I have ever seen. If you have some ZDP knives that don't stand up to Spyderco standards, then they are probably not NIB, sorry to say. :(

Fair warning to anyone looking to get the Superhawk. The "Super" in its name is not understated; this is one beast of a knife! The best comparison that I can come up with is that it's a hawkbill version of the Mini-Manix; almost exactly the same blade length, handle length, and blade...

Why do the Salt 1 say ''H1'' on my (yellowSE) blade but on the pictured one in the catalog thing on this site it says Salt 1? The older generation Salt knives said their model name on the blade, whereas the newer generation ones say "H1" in that stylized font. I'm not really sure w...

Agreed that the Superhawk is a thick-handled knife. Almost a little too thick for my liking; but that Flat-ground hawkbill blade is just too much to resist! :D If Spyderco ever came out with a "Mini Superhawk" (Blade around 3", with a width of 3mm as opposed to 4mm. Something more aki...
