Re: Defensive Fixed Blade Suggestions

Swick is also a good option. The fact that you have to wiggle your finger in the hole does makes it slower. But also provides very positive purchase on the blade. You can also use your hands with a swick to open doors, use an o.c. spray or even shoot a gun. Emerson made the la griffe with Perrin. Or...

Re: Defensive Fixed Blade Suggestions

The Ronin 2. I carry a clinch pick in pikal front center horizontal on a daily base. Can reach it with both hands. other options are Fred Perrin's designs. Or Bastinelli . Have you thought about a push dagger? Very instinctive, if legal.

Re: Annual Spyderco Product Guide (Catalog)

No, i strongly dislike digital catalogs. I love the smell and feel of the Spyderco catalogs. The fact that the knives are 1/1 so you can have a feeling of their dimension.
I am saddened they discontinued the catalogs. Saying that most customers prefer it is b.s. imho.

Re: Question for Sal, Crew, or Forumites

I think Quality control only works after all steps have been taken so i think a cc can fail final inspection. Even beeing a second i can't really anything wrong with it. Maybe they dropped it or hit it in the kitchen making a dent? If you don't mind, didn't overpay and it works why bother? The only ...

Re: Reveal 14 Live!

I like the pink para 3. Hopefully i can buy one for my wife's collection of pink Spyderco knives.
Hopefully i can also buy the military 2 this year. Funds are tight so plain S30V and black G10 works for me. Didn't dare to check the prices.

Re: Knife trends you just don't understand?

I have no use in steel that forces me to send my knife back for factory resharpening, or forces me to buy an expensive sharpening system and regrind the angle to increase the performance say 100%. I want something i can sharpen on my sharpmaker. It's like buying an expensive motorcycle that goes 200...

Re: Knives: Don't Make a Fatal Mistake

Or people live in the rest of the world where carrying a simple pocket knife is looked upon as a weapon by the Governement. I live in Europe and basically nothing can be carried in self defense. And if you defend yourself, you can only do it a) when you can't escape or call the police b) the use of ...

To clarify, he probably meant the TS348, not 384. This is the 348:

Re: Ugly knives

My wife thinks they have animal like features. The thumbhole seems to remind people of eyes so the bladeshape looks like a beak of a bird.
I don't care how they look. Form follows function.

Re: Newbie to Spydercos - did I get an Authentic one ?

Servus Jean, after looking at your pictures i notice that there is no native five molded in under the Spyderco bug on the handle. I don't have a native 5 but as far as i know the model is always molded under the bug in the newer models. Maybe someone with an actual native can confirm. Just checked t...

I believe they where inscribed with an inscription on the blade. Only saw a picture once a few years ago. One of the dodo's of Spyderco. Don't think you can find a lot on the secondary market. Maybe Sal will chime in.

But also Sal and Gail. They drove up to N.Y. and donated a lot of Spyderco rescue blades to the guys and girls working the rubble piles at ground zero.
They did their part as well.
