Re: Trip to Spain

I have been carrying anything between a Brous Silent Soldier and a Manix 2 everywhere around Madrid, clipped to my pocket, with zero issue - common sense prevailing as mentioned above by Filoso. I normally avoid keeping the knife with me when entering official / administration buildings. However I h...

Re: Manix2 Backlock!

Question... does the fact that this version has a backlock take away the ease of flicking out the Manix 2 like the normal G10/LW versions with the ball bearing lock? Yes, this baby has a pretty stiff action out of the box, there is no flicking it as is. Maybe playing with the pivot tension? Can't s...

Re: New Back Lock Design Quesitons

Mine is perfect. It has good snap but not too much. The bias to close on my example is true even with the blade open quite a way (I do not have anything to measure the angle). It makes for a very secure feeling. The walk and talk on my example is the best of any Spyderco I own, just so you know. Th...

These photos by 91Bravo on Bladeforums answer some of the questions.
Do I see traces of blue Loctite on the pivot hole and screw, second pic?

Re: Introduction with the Manix 2 Backlock

Nice review, I've had this blade for 6 days now and like it a lot although I would prefer the handles a bit thinner. Then again I would also prefer a LW version, I just like my folders lightweight and slim handled. Might try the sheeps cheese test, travelling from Alicante to Madrid in a few weeks....

I'll second that, and it makes a Manix 2 XL Lockback all the more desirable :)

Re: Introduction with the Manix 2 Backlock

Hi Gerard, In case you haven't seen or tried, unlock with thumb in lockbar and first finger in the hole. Push the blade down once thumb has pressed deep enough. I do that all the time with my lockbacks. Not sure if this is doable with the M2 though. Thank you Chris, I did not know this technique. A...

From the bronze-colored reflection I get when shining a flashlight in the space between the blade and the scale, I would say it's probably PB.

I think it should be considered a variant. If anything, the KC exclusive CF/Cruwear could be considered an upgrade over other versions, but the Backlock is just different.

Re: Introduction with the Manix 2 Backlock

Thank you for the nice review. Subjective it may be, but your narrative provides clear comparison between the two, and a very nice story to follow. ;) I only have one S110V G10, and not really a Manix person. So I'm less inclined to get one. BUT, the pics of the thick G10 and flushed with steel bac...
