Well, if I start up a "Send Chris to Blade 07" fund, and people actually donate, I'll make it down there. I think I'd be better off starting a "Help Chris pay off his credit debt" fund though. I'm shooting for Blade in 08 though. Everything other than my largest college loan will...

Actually Scott, The Wii will have backwards compatibility with the Gamecube games. The Gamecube controllers will even work with the Wii. If you have Broadband internet, you'll be able to download video games from every previous Nintendo system, as well as games from the Genesis and the TurboGrafx-16...

Daywalker,

Dredging through my memory, I'd almost swear the smaller version of the Pocket Spear was called the Pocket Lite. I seem to remember there being a Field Spear as well as a Field Lite too.

Hiya Daywalker, Ah yes..the Pocket Spear. I actually had a chance to pick up a large model when I visited a local hardware store. Unfortunately, I didn't have the cash so I missed out on it. I still think the Wedge ranks up there among the best small fixed blades. If they just made it available with...

Thanks for the input everyone. She's going to be in Dar Salam, which I think is in Senegal. It's a small village of about 560 people, right around the Niokolo Park, so it's kinda in the middle of nowhere.

Sending a knife to Africa?

I have a friend that is currently in the Peace Corps, and I was thinking about sending a Spyderco to keep her company. My question is, how does one go about sending something like that to Africa. Would a Delica sized knife make it through customs?

Any other Outdoor Edge fans?

I came across my Outdoor Edge Magna, Impulse, and Wedge when I was looking at my knives a little while ago. Looking the Magna and Impulse over, I couldn't help but think that it was a shame that they were discontinued. As far as the Wedge goes, it's one of my favorite small fixed blades. The only gr...

Beautiful work. I just never see enough custom lockbacks. Isn't RWL-34 equivalent to ATS-34 and 154CM? I noticed that you said the lockbar and blade were both going to be treated to 59 RC. Are they the same steel, or is the lockbar different? Edited to add: I just noticed that you did all this by ha...

Woohoo! Somehow my Salt magically appeared on one of my friend's speakers the other day. So now it's back in my pocket.

I hope the rest of you are so lucky. :)

poodle,

Why don't you try emailing one of the mods on Bladeforums and speak with them, rather than trying to get someone to do the dirty work for you?

severedthumbs, sal said: All I can say is that Benchmade and Spyderco have an agreement. Spyderco will honor that agreement It's a rather cryptic statment, but the way I see it, that could mean one of two things: 1) BM and Spyderco had an agreement, and BM broke that agreement with the production of...

I know how you feel JD. Sure I could buy another one, but darn it, that Salt was mine:-p. I'm going to keep looking around, in case it happens to pop up. If not, I guess I'll have to pick up another one down the road.

Nothing worse than losing a knife..

A couple weeks ago, I wake up to get ready for work and as I'm putting everything in my pockets, I realize my Atlantic Salt is missing. I didn't have time to look for it, so I picked another knife and headed out. After I got home, I tore my room apart looking for it, still no luck. The next day, I w...

I think you might want to reconsider your criteria a little bit. You want to consider what the area surrounding your apartment is like. Are there people living next door, or is the area clear? Also, you CANNOT count on just the appearance of a gun deterring an attacker. I can understand that the DE ...
