The only thing holding me back from getting a native is the pinned construction. Im worried about play and not being able fix it myself.

What all of you are just recently discorverying about Tawain knife manu. Cold Steel has known for a very long time now. Having owned and sold Rajah and Espada I can say the quality is top notch, and I'm very picky. Great knives coming out of Tawain. All Americans need to take note and up their game...

My favorite is FFG for that nice smooth, clean look and the way it slices and cuts. That being said a properly done high hollow grind is right up there with FFG for me.

Realistically, the easiest way to achieve that would be to shorten the blade on a Stretch, which is something you could have done for you. If you try scaling down a handle as structured as that of the Stretch, "something's gotta give". IMHO it would be pretty hard to do without compromisi...

Have you looked at the UK Pen drop point? It's a slipit, but same basic blade shape and a bit shorter. Yeah I see what you mean and I think I'll get one. Only thing that I'm not sure about would be the ergos of the ukpk. The ergos on the Stretch are perfect for me and I would ideally want the same ...

Possibility of smaller Stretch?

Would making a smaller version of the Stretch (3 inch blade or less) be something Spyderco could possibly consider doing? I'm guessing not because the Stretch is a somewhat niche design compared to the much more popular Delicas, Enduras, Militarys, etc but I think it would be awesome if they did. I ...

I traded a Sage 1 for a Para 2 when they were scorching hot and regretted it! I sold the Para 2 and re-bought a Sage 1 (with plenty left over). The CF, polished liners, clip and open construction are just beautiful and they lock up absolutely perfect. I don't like frame locks and metallic handles s...

I'm glad to hear you say that. Although I like the Sage 2 , it just doesn't "wow" me. But that Sage 1 looks awesome. I have never owned a liner lock before for fear that they may not lock up so solid. But after reading countless good reviews of the Sage 1 I am definitely ready for my firs...

I've owned all 3 sages and I ended up trading away all 3. The only one I reacquired is the sage 1 which will be here in a day or two. Just something special about the cf and smooth deployment and tight lockup.

All the zdp steel models I've gotten came super sharp. Seems like spyderco tries to get the harder steels to come very sharp.

Just a guess but probably has to do with the spydie hole issue. I did some searching on this matter and thats messed up. I own a 555hg and now i like it even less. Glad I traded away my mini dejavoo too. I guess I was always under the impression that bm got permission from spyderco to use the hole...

so what makes the sage 2 stronger then? The Sage 2 frame lock bar much is thicker although it has a notch in the ti so that could be a weak point. The main thing is that you cannot accidentally disengage the lock the way you can with a liner lock. So as long as the lockbars are equal thickness and ...

First off the main knife that people have recommended has been the delica, which is by no means the most SD style knife spyderco makes. Not to mention the TS listed a few knives he was already considering in his first post. Delica wave Delica ffg Endura wave Endura ffg stretch manix 2 No where in t...

How is calling him "snot nosed" and suggesting he'll "brandish" the knife "in the hood" (a pretty biased assumption that he somehow lives in a ghetto b/c his location is LA) "responsible advice"? Clearly he shouldn't bring the knife in school. He never said h...

He's a minor and spends the majority of his days AT school where knives are ILLEGAL. Heck there was a story about a elementary kid getting expelled for bringing a butter knife to use for lunch. It's not right for people to be encouraging him to be carrying a knife when its clear he wont be able to c...
