Re: Spyderco Small Knife For Self Defense?

The Pacific Salt is wondefull for summer, but without years of training you shouldn't even dream of using a knife for sd.

A hunting/camp knife seems like a strange application for serrations. Maybe that is just my bias though. I hate serrations.
Yep,me too.I have only one serrated Spyderco and i used it only in the kitchen.

Ich habe dein Beitrag in Eile gelesen.Ich bin froh, dass wir beide Endela-Fans sind :) Man, that´s almost perfect German!! (I´m a rather proud Austrian ;), but we speak a German dialect here) Just one tiny mistake: You´d say "Ich habe dein EN Beitrag...gelesen" Do you speak German or did ...

Chappy LW, Polestar, UKPK. Ergonomics, fit and finish etc. are, so far, my best bang for buck Spydies.
The byrd line is often overlooked but are amazing value.
I think the Polestar is the most underrated Spyderco in production. And it's a shame, because it's a superb knife.

Re: Spydercos best "bang-for-the-buck" - knife?!

Endela. Could very well be. Though I think in some way the byrd-line certainly offers a lot of bang for the buck,if you project the price difference from a Byrd knife to an Endela/ Endura on the many years you'll own a knife normally, the latter give you even more "bang" probably. You pro...

Re: Help convince me that FRN handles are better than they look..

I used to be like you,and then i bought a D4,grey frn.Now frn is my favorie handle material,by far. It's warm, grippy without being abrasive, and the bi-directional texture is simply great.I don't like the frcp quite so much,though...

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

I'm with you. Except for Salt models, I completely fail to understand why the little additional weight matters for practical carry, while liners sure give more overall toughness (and add material value, too). For example, for liner-less Native 5 vs liner'ed Native 5, the liners just add 17g (e.g., ...

Re: Which knife if you were....

Charles Morse got a hunting knife for his birthday,so probably he would have it on himself, and it had to be the Respect.Otherwise,he was a billionaire, and he would have carried a gentleman's folder, like the Chaparral.
If it would happened to me,i would have my ffg blue Endura on me.

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

The rigidity added by the liners is just as ''important'' as the weight spared by taking them off.To each it's own,but i don't understand this anti-liner movement.Maybe it's a wish to relive times gone by,when we where young, and linerless? I'm with you. Except for Salt models, I completely fail to ...

Sadly,it looks like the Bow River will not be out this year...
After hearing Eric himself say it would be out by May, it would be nice to get some kind of update or explanation. Is it being pushed back 1 month? 2 months? Next year?
Cancelled...?

Re: Your Delica 5

Just take the liners out and I'll be happy. The difference would be 0.4 oz.I doubt anyone would be able to tell just by holding the knife. It's not about the weight. It's about simplifying the design even further. It's also about adding more rust resistance to the main line. Unless we're talking no...
