The composition is very close to CPM Cruwear, so this should be an excellent choice. I am happy to see this offered.

Re: New EDC Fixed Blade - Suggestions?
My one concern in recommending the Mule Team knives for your consideration is the size of the handle. I have pretty large mitts myself and I would not want the handle on my Mules to be any smaller than it already is. I am totally with you in wishing there was more love and blade steel options for th...

I will opt for the Satin version also, for the same reasons. Living in a relatively dry environment I do not have a need for the DLC coating and in fact don't mind a bit of natural patina on my blades. I also feel the Natural G-10 scales are going to be very attractive.

Re: Can I purchase new screws and back spacers from Spyderco.
Contacting Spyderco Warranty & Repair Department would be the way to find out for sure, but I can understand the time issue with a phone call, which would be the best way to contact them if you could. An email fully explaining the reasons for wanting the parts will get a reply, but please be pat...

Re: New EDC Fixed Blade - Suggestions?
I find my various Mules just so handy for a variety of everyday tasks that I have found this model hard for me to replace for edc. Fortunately I get to try a variety of good blade steels in the Mules, and I am hoping to see CPM REX 121 offered at some future time. I also like the .118" blade th...

Re: Spyderco Natural G-10 Manix 2 M4 Blade HQ Exclusives
Website says skeletonized. What a great price!!! The BHQ website description for the Black DLC version does indeed mention Skeletonized Liners, and the description for the Satin version, which was the one I was looking at, does not mention liners at all, so I thought possibly full liners based upon...

Re: Spyderco Natural G-10 Manix 2 M4 Blade HQ Exclusives
I’m assuming it’s skeletonized? That black and jade looks great! At an advertised weight of 5 0z. I would think the liners are not skeletonized. Just a guess, but the full ss liners on the Manix 2 weigh in at 4.9 oz. according to the Spyderco catalog. Personally I like the extra heft and feel of th...

Re: Hygiene and Physical Contact at Social Events?
Being pretty much of a hermit by choice and not being comfortable around large groups, especially folks I don't know, tends to keep me well away from social events of any kind. I am in no way anti-social and have my circle of friends whom I enjoy spending time with, but by and large I don't have a g...

Re: Where Spyderco Knives Fall Short
I have found many Spyderco offerings that meet my needs and preferences regarding handle size to fit my hand well and comfortably, and a blade length that does what I need it to do. Much can be accomplished with a small blade and a bit of ingenuity, but fit in the hand is important to controlling th...

Re: After carrying the UKPK...
I have to agree. After carrying traditional slip joints much of my life, and then "discovering" Spyderco many years ago, I am very much a convert to the pocket clip and one hand opening, (so much easier than opening lockback knives prior to thumb studs or the "Flicket"). Still, I...

Re: Cruwear Mule question
Here is a quote from my Spydiewiki files on the Mule Team series. I hope this helps. "MT21P Plain Edge Cru-Wear Sept. 2011 Jan. 2012 $59.95. Recalled due to improper heat treat. Subsequent heat treat fixed problem. Of the initial run of 600, only -450 were resold after the recall. Re-treated Mu...

Re: Best steel for sharp edges
One terrible thing is that an Edge Pro (or similar setup) is moving onto the top of my list of things to spend money on. Maybe when the calendar rolls over to October and a new paycheck arrives I will decide whether to dive in. I totally agree that the decision is not to be taken lightly. Here's so...
