Re: First Spyderco- Tenacious- Got Questions!
Centering may require loosening screws other than the pivot. If it concerns you, try loosening the other screws, then tightening a little at a time on all the screws until you get the desired action and centering. It takes some finesse sometimes.

Sales is usually the answer.

Re: FRN
I've seen exactly one FRN handle broken in my time on this forum and it was run over by a bobcat while stuck into the ground blade first. It's plenty tough, even with no liners.

Re: Slightly longer clip screws for Para 3
Does anybody have a source for slightly longer clip screws for the Para 3? I have some aftermarket scales that are just a smidge too thick. I hate to grind them down if I can just get a few screws. Thanks! If you end up at your local hardware store, the thread type is 2-56. When you order a clip fr...

It would be pretty hard to countersink holes in a Lynch clip.Albertaboyscott wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:09 amIf you can't find screws, just take a drill bit and countersink the holes so the screws can reach.

Re: Who's making scales?
"Blade Protector" is a forumite (FullScaler, I believe) who prints inexpensive scales: https://bladeprotection.com/shop/ I have a pair on a straight spine mule; they work well. They come ever so slightly oversize so you can sand them for a perfect fit, if you're into that level of detail....

I was aware that Halpern was doing them, surprised there aren't more responses.

Re: Customer Support Question
As mentioned, a bone was already thrown. You're asking a lot, custom work on a knife you damaged, for a knife that is out of stock everywhere from a production facility that is still quite backlogged.

Re: No movement in the forum
We need new models to drive traffic... As has been said before, the budget knife world is full of competition and 8Cr13 and lack of fresh designs isn't doing the Byrd line any favors.

Who's making scales?
I just got my 3rd mule, and first since the 9Cr18 mule from years ago, bringing me to look for scales. Who's making good scales at a good price. I'm not looking for anything fancy as this is intended to be a user. Suggest away! Thanks.

Re: why so few Stretch 2 color variations?
Sales dictate these things... I think if it is popular it gets more options, not vice versa. That said orange makes sense as this is a knife that would appeal to hunters. I think it is a chicken-egg thing. Based on years of seeing Sal's posts, they tend to do colors on popular models. I agree, mayb...

Re: Para 3 Lovefest, Where Did It Go?
I think the relative wave of exclusives died down a bit so it's a little quieter on the Para 3 front, but it's still a very popular knife.

Re: Para 3 Lightweight - Rattle Noise?
I did speak with Warranty person at Spyderco and they said it may just be a loose pivot (definitely could have been loosened by the owner before me) but they had no way of knowing what it truly is without sending it in for a look. You shouldn't need warranty to tell you if your pivot is loose. Does...

Re: Looking to get my first Spyderco
The Shaman is large by most standards, if you are okay with EDCing a large knife, it's a great one. The Sage is much more suited to typical EDC uses for most people and the size means it is probably somewhat more acceptable in daily use. I think it would handle camp situations just fine as well. I h...

Re: Para 3 Lightweight - Rattle Noise?
Do you actually know what 5mm looks like, because if the washer is moving that much the whole knife should be rattling. 5mm of movement would indicate someone put a giant washer in there by mistake and it is free floating around the pivot. If this is the case, you should probably have wild blade pla...
