Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Used my HAP40 Meerkat to open... another box of spydies from BHQ - a Jade M4 Para 3, and a Jade Hap40 Lum Chinese. I really gotta quit looking at Spydies while I'm out of work!

Re: 2018 Spyderco Forum Knife! Info & Sign-up

How fortunate that I logged into the forum to see this post today. I haven't been on the forum in quite awhile - I've been out of work for quite awhile, and it just gets that much more painful to get excited about new models that I can't afford, but I'm going to find a way to get this one.

Re: Titanium Military opinions

I absolutely love the fluted Ti Military, enough that I own 4 of them in addition to all the other Spydies I own. I would probably buy another one now that they are discontinued and on clearance, except that I'm unemployed and need to watch my purchases more carefully, I have around 300 Spyderco kni...

Re: 2018 Forum Calendar Contest!

The Fluted Ti Military is among my favorite of all things Spyderco. I find it beautiful, and very comfortable to use. Here is one of the earlier anodized versions, with a non-anodized companion, resting on some cattails. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4391/36460303826_76ea4b3991_h.jpg NIKON D90_2013...

Re: Lc200n and corrosion resistance...new observations

Is it possible that the pin-head-sized spot of corrosion was due to some impurity in the LC200N? I don't know how LC200N is made, just wondering if that could explain why you only saw the corrosion on that one tiny spot but not elsewhere on the knife or on your other LC200N knives? LC200N does appea...

Re: Please tell me this will stop

The Manbug is still available in HAP40, which you really need to experience :). Of course, you could also get it in ZDP189 for a long-lasting edge. And then there is the serrated sheepsfoot Salt version. You can't go wrong with any (or ALL) of them :).

Re: Please tell me this will stop

I hear it will stop... once you are in the grave. I don't know though, both of my daughters now also love Spyderco knives.

I just bought another 7 Spydies in the last 2 weeks. I think I have somewhere over 300 Spydies now...

Re: Folding Camp Knife Suggestions

My difficulty when camping is in narrowing down the list of knives I want to take with me, there are so many good choices. If you anticipate being wet much of the time, H1 of course would prevent rust, but anything in S110V is also pretty rust-resistant, and holds a good working edge quite awhile. A...

Re: Linerless CF

I too was sad when they cancelled the fluted CF Native, I had a couple of them on pre-order. There's just something about the fluting that really appeals to me. I have 3 of the fluted Ti Natives, and 4 fluted Ti Military's, in addition to the 40th Anniv. Native. I may get around to adding a backup o...

Re: Mike Draper Folder!

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to look at your video, maybe later tonight. I know a lot of people have expressed that they think the Mike Draper is ugly, but I like mine. Considering that it cost more than a Military (which is a *very* nice knife) I can understand that feeling, but I happen to like m...

Re: Another Cruwear Manix 2 KW Exclusive?

I received mine today. I love the CF. To me it feels just like the CF on my Dodo - not slippery-smooth like Nishijin or my CF Caly 3/3.5, but not G10-rough like the CF on my KW exclusive Manix's. Just about the best combination. And what's not to love about Cru-Wear on a hard-working knife? :) I'm t...

Re: Gayle Bradley Advocate First Impressions?

I just received my Advocate in the mail yesterday. While that's not enough time to really evaluate everything about the knife, I love mine. It flips open very well, and the spyderco-hole is functional as well, unlike my Mantra 2. I love the orange-peel texture on the Ti scales as well. Easy to get a...

Re: How do you close your Manix 2?

I have slightly nicked my palm a few times closing a Manix 2. Rather than holding the blade horizontally, try holding the blade pointing down, then hold the lock release and rotate your hand so that the blade closes, but by doing it slowly it won't fall nick your palm. I don't have a video handy to ...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Yeah, y'all are a bunch of enablers. For some reason the Hungarian was never really on my radar, but I've never seen one in person. $109 isn't too much to risk as long as I receive a genuine Spyderco and not a return. Plus I had $80 in reward points dying to be used, so I just ordered my Hungarian f...
