Re: Production knife classics? (Modern)

When I think of a “modern” classic I think the worker wins along side the Police SS.

Modern to me means two hand opening and no belt sheath.

Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!

I’m really liking this new Pacific Salt!

Ordered it from Knifeworks on Friday and it arrived today.

It’s sooo lightweight and much more balanced in hand compared to the H1 version.

Here’s what’s in my pockets today.

I’ve been using my teal Delica a lot lately and I’m loving how compact it is in the pocket and how slicey it is. :)

Hi Bluetype,

And a good $00.02 it is. With the information provided so far, that's where I was going. A bit of an engineering nightmare, but, IMHO, possible.

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

triple post... impressive I’m not sure about a standard wire size, but what I can tell you is most barbed-wire is two strands of wire twisted together; in an emergency situation you really wouldn’t want a barbed-wire fence slowing down your escape from an approaching fire. I also wanted to add some...

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

Did you have a specific lock in mind? I was thinking a handle and lock similar to the Military OK since the first idea didn’t work out, here is plan B. Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

Did you have a specific lock in mind? Well after half the day fooling around with a drawing and a cardboard prototype there is just no way to employ a wire cutter in the handle near the pivot like I was planning. The tip of the blade would have to come out of the handle and that would just not be s...

Re: Anyone tried this?

Thanks for the info everyone. I suppose I’m going to go ahead and use the blue Loctite. If anyone else thinks this is a bad idea please chime in before I mess something up. You'll be fine with that, BT. It's not rocket surgery. Cleanliness is kind of important, though. On small fasteners, som...

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

I have another question about this knife you’re designing: Is LC200N going to be a strong enough steel to hold up to cutting barbed-wire, Or do you think a steel like 20CV or CTS-204P would be better?

Re: Wildland Firefighters Knife

Hi Lonehunter. I just posted an example of what I was referring to in breaking wire. There are issues that come with a multi tool or carrying an extra tool. I hope we can come up with a good solution for the wire but even if the wire thing is a no go on a folder, a fixed blade version could. Right ...

I would also love to see the return of the JD Smith in CTS-204P.

Re: What model would you like to see in CTS-204P?

Depends on where it falls in the rust resistance spectrum. If it's as good or better than VG-10, then either the straight spine or regular Stretch 2. If not as good, then no interest at all. Larrin rated it just slightly better than S110V, which is about as stainless as it gets(with currently used ...

I picked the Stretch but, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Police 4 lightweight either.

Re: Anyone tried this?

Is Locktite 222 the blue kind? Really nail polish? 222 is purple low strength. And yes, nail polish works as a threadlocker :) Thanks, I didn’t even know about the purple kind. I have the blue Loctite in glue stick form like Nick Shabazz suggested, Seems like a good idea haven’t used it yet though....

Re: Knifecenter Exclusive Police4

Ok Julia, here’s the pics I promised. I wear medium Mechanix gloves and they are tight on me, large still fit but are loose. Here’s the Police 4 lightweight & a teal Delica for size reference. As you can see I have plenty of room on this handle. I like it, I wouldn’t change a thing. I highly re...
