As I am not strictly right-handed I thought the Dyad could feel uncomfortable when opened lefthanded, but the idea of having two grinds and two blade-shapes offers interesting possibilities. A plain edge flat ground ZDP-189 blade combined with a serrated H1 shepsfoot with dark green/yellow G10 (refe...

Wow! Seems I could even get my pre-ordered Dodo from KW (just told them to wait for the green P2 to throw it in one mail box). When they appeared and seemed to be extinct right afterwards I became impatient and got one off the bay. The thing about that one was the grind: not all way back! So after g...

Yes the Moran is an excellent design, as simple as possible, great handle (at least for my medium sized hands) and just the right length for a hunting blade. It works as a better steel better grind better sheath and better handle option for a Mora knife, easy to clean and G-clip high carry belt knif...

A white glow-in-the-dark Assist!!

Ok, would be fun but a white Stretch in one of the newer Carpenter steels, maybe XHP, would be awesome.

Or a salt white H1 knife! White Tasman, sounds like a cocktail-some dangerous stuff!

The Chaparral is very high on my list. I just fear to like the CF too much to really use it. I think I will wait for the next version as I can´t wait to try XHP. There are no lock or length limits in Austria so I´m in some kind of knife enthusiast paradise. I just found out slipits will serve me bet...

My Byrds tend to rust at liners and lock bar. In fact a Robin came out of the box (a hollow ground Robin, could be it was stored quite a time at the online seller as it was the box with some dinosaurs/birds) showing brown spots on the lock bar. I wasn´t excited about working rust out of a brand new ...

I didn't say that they weren't terrific, just that they'd be more terrific with a 2mm blade. That´s what I feel about it. At that size the blade seems quite thick. I am used to Meadowlark, Robin, FRN UKPKs and Delicas being 2,5mm thick and small blades. A Wharncliff blade could be even thinner for ...

Up to now: S30V holds up great, GIN-1 not. H1, VG10 and ZDP 189 are on the way and to be tested.

Main use: Wood cutting

Those Rescue blades cut faster than an axe/machete!

I was also worrying about safety and comfort of use before I got my first UKPK. In fact I got caught when KC had the orange G10 Rescue on sale. And this knife is my absolutely loved woodworking tool. Whenever there´s some branch cutting or whittling to be done (no artistic fine work) those teeth bit...

Those Meadowlarks are fun to use! They combine great handle material with a, for most of the daily chores, sufficient blade length and a finger choil to cut right where the forefinger ends. I do even prefer them over the Persistence for the handle and lock type. The G10, though textured, is not as g...

I have both, FFG and Saber. What I noticed is that on the full flat ground blade the spine curves more towards the tip. I like the straighter design of the saber ground blade and I do prefer it when skinning or cutting some softer stuff like meat as the sleek sides of the flat ground one tend to sti...

I wouldn´t shrink the Para 2. One handed closing needs that handle lenght. For me this knife isn´t an EDC. I usually carry UKPKs, Robins, Dragonflies and Ladybugs. City life :( But when things could get dirty and a fixed is too big I will have to replace my Cara cara with that Paramilitary2. I like ...

I have a tern, just in between robin and UKPK, not as good in fit and finish as are those G10 UKPKs so it will see a lot of use when a discrete carry knife for dirty chores is needed. My Robin will see more use though, fits my hands better and I like the pointy tip on the hollow ground version.

Well, byrd Robin and UKPK got me hooked on jimped choil designs and to my surprise the UKPK I use the most is the rescue one with G10 handles. It just grabs everything feels like a perfect extension of my hand opens/closes perfectly! The FRN UKPKs need to get some kind of stronger spring and the han...
