Re: Sage idea
Spyderco backlocks require almost the exact same movements to open and close as a liner/frame lock. They are very easy to use and there are multiple ways of manipulating them one handed. Yes! I totally agree! I use many of these ways myself! However, as I've explained in depth in my previous post, ...

Guess we have different definitions of quick then. That was opening and closing the knife in my pocket three times in nine seconds. I've been opening and closing lockbacks like this for over a decade without cutting myself. Tough to cut yourself with the index finger in the spyderhole the entire ti...

The traditional back-lock also has a minute flaw. It's not really quick to close one-handed. I mean, it's possible, but it's no fun to play with, unlike, say, the compression lock. Couldn't disagree more on both counts. Easy to close one handed AND fun to play with. https://streamable.com/8yxc5 Tha...

As we all know, the Sage series is all about showcasing innovative locks. The series has already featured locks designed by Michael Walker, Chris Reeve, a couple of Spyderco originals and Al Mar. I'd like to propose another name to add to that list: Glenn Klecker. The Klecker lock, which some of you...

HAP-40, Super Blue and ZDP-189 are produced by Yasugi Specialty Steel, a subsidiary of Hitachi. Not sure about VG-10, but it's probably made by the same people.

Re: Sprints and Exclusives Killing Regular Production Models?
If more regular production knives had interesting steels... The Pattada would've been a beast with K390. Regular ol' S30V for the new D'Allara just doesn't cut it for me, too. Upping the standard steel to 20CV or 204P would make regular production much more appealing. That would probably up the pric...

Practical....G-10 linerless Native and or Manix in a tough tool steel. M4, 3V, 4V, Cru-wear. Or a new Golden made model with those same specs, say a Golden made G-10 linerless larger version of the Dragonfly with a tool steel. Same DF shape just stretched to 7.25". An M4 Manix 2 is coming from...

I don't like small (for reference - an Endura is borderline) knives, but M4 makes me change my mind. That would be an amazing knife.
