You're in the EU - the insanity of the other member states will catch up with you sooner or later. :D Absolutely true. Unfortunately, my country will enter EU in a couple of years - since many of our laws follow German laws the future for knives does not look bright. Our present 'knife-law' is very...

Sal said they still aren't able to work with S125V, so I wouldn't expect anything too soon... although it's only a matter of time before they work something out, so I'm sure it will happen eventually. The new FFG, CF Native looks and feels nicer than just about any knife I've handled. I'd pre-order...

The only complaint would be a HOLE. Sal should change the ugly 'comet' to a Spyderco hole. Otherwise, one is forced to buy a Benchmade line to have a HOLE.

Spyderco may call it Red Byrd, or Red China line, or whatever, but it seems stupid (my apology to Sal) to leave a HOLE to others.

I do not accept that it should be a certain blade play in lockback folders because it is simply not true. Some time ago a discussion were going about a blade play in Fällkniven U2 folder (jap. SGPS supersteel). The answer from Peter (the owner of Fällkniven) was: All folders for sale thru dealers ar...

Thanks MAT888, bladese97 and Peter, it´s good to know I´m not alone on this one. Sorry Franco, but I haven´t started this thread to denounce any kind of policy. I mainly wanted to know the thickness of the D4 G-10 blade. For me it would be sufficient if I could get the info from the online catalog....

Since my question had been ignored in two other threads, what is the reason for no more data about blade thicknesses in the 2008 catalog and how thick is the Delica 4 Foliage G-10 blade, please? Doesn´t blade thickness matter anymore? JB This is a very strange part of the Spyderco's policy. At one ...

I agree, completely.

BTW, it should be disputandum, not 'disputandem'. A bona fide comment.

I have a Caly jr. with ZDP-189 (Burgundy) with absolutely no blade play - a miracle by Spyderco. However, my Caly 3 with ZDP-189 and CF handle has a very slight vertical play (by pushing with blade). Although it is really a small play it should not be present in a knife so expensive and so beautiful...

Hi MG2, We've got a design "in the works". I'm carving on the handle now. As mentioned, probably not in '08, maybe '09. 5" flat round VG-10 blade, micarta scales. More like the "Street Beat" in quality. sal Hope it would be a full flat tang knife. Might be, of course, a tan...

Just noticed the hole in the blade. I'm not sure I like it  What's your opinion? I agree. There is no reason to modify the original Moran creation by adding a hole without any purpose. I do not think the explanations about a 'forward' lanyard make sense - nobody uses that. My impression i...

Chinook vs. Chinook 2 & 3

I see the difference but still do not understand the deeper reason. My points: 1. James Keating designed THE Chinook (I have one). What is the reason that the Chinook 2 design was changed a lot. Does it mean that James found he was wrong with the original design? 2. Actually, there is a huge amount ...

I have one. Probably the best from Spyderco. It is a liner lock knife but the best. The steel too. BG-42 shows an extremly fine edge. I think all knives with the compression lock are very heavy duty rated, and thus can take over 200 lb/inch of blade. If I remember correctly, that is not true. ParaMillie is not a MBC knife. With ATR was not clear when it appeared, later it achieved a MBC rating. But for sure, Lil'T, Gunting, Yojim...

Was JD Smith produced in US or in Japan? A choice of the steel depends on this. If in US, I would be glad to have BG-42 steel and CF handle (the same as CF Caly 3). But, Micarta or G-10 or Titanium (my preference) would be OK too. It would be a perfect high-end, light, gentleman's folder. Franco P. ...
