Great to hear so many folks having positive experiences with LC!
Curious about others' experience sharpening and honing it (see my original post). I will update with my experience sharpening LC, once I have some!

Would buy-- if it were built in Golden. Or if the Seki back locks were improved.

Re: VToku2 Steel: How corrosion resistant?
SEF, I just got mine, so no real experience yet. From the steel composition, it is not very different from 1095. It is laminated on the outsides with stainless. The carbon steel core is vulnerable at the cutting edge, on the spine and tang edge, and at the "Spydie" and pivot holes. I plan ...

I would go Stretch, but I'm not really a PM2, nor tanto guy, so I am not a fair judge! For a comp lock knife I'd go Shaman or PE leaf Caribbean.

SDG, do you have leaf or sheep? Presumably PE, or you would have specified SE? The Caribbean really appeals to me, but holding off on it for now.

Who else is packing some LC200n? Whaddya think?
I've been carrying and using my Spydiechef for about 4 months. I've been with happy with the knife and the steel. So happy with the steel that I just bought a Native Salt. I haven't yet needed to sharpen or hone the Chef, as it has mostly been used on food. Everyone who uses the stuff seems pretty h...

Cheers, SpyderEdgeForever! I have a bunch of lamnated fixed blades and carving tools, but this is my first laminated steel folder. So cool.

Re: Stretch 2
I just received mine on Wednesday. I am quite pleased with the steel and ergos. Mine has a tiny bit of vertical blade play but I'll live with it.

Spyderco habit and latest fix: Stretch 2 V-Toku 2, Native Salt, Byrd Rescue 2
Yesterday i received my latest round of Spyderco knives. This little box included a Stretch 2 in V-Toku 2, a Native Salt and a Byrd Cara Cara Rescue 2 with an orange handle. I am happy with all three of the knives. I am most pleased with the Native Salt . I spend a good bit of time outdoors year rou...

Re: Stretch 2 Saber Grind BD1N G-10 Diamond Weave
I am not interested in a saber grind Stretch. I like thin BTE flat grinds from thin stock. ...Except when i want a scandi grind. :)

Re: Light Weight LC200N Kapara?
Has there been any serious testing comparing S30V to LC200N? Is the edge retention about the same? If so, then would it be feasible to entirely replace the S30V base models with LC200N? I think people may like that change even if the whole knife isn't 100% rust-proof. I’d love for EVERY Spyderco mo...

Re: Different Tools, Different Steels, Different Angles Different Grits to get your Spydies Blade Factory Fresh
I freehand sharpen on bench stones. I primarily use a 1000/6000 Japanese 'water stone.' I also have a medium/coarse Norton Crystolon stone that is good for reprofiling and repair. Depending on the steel and application the finish will vary. I will finish wood working knives (mostly scandi grind) wit...

Howdy y'all! I am a longtime lurker and first time poster. I have learned an awful lot from many of you here! I just wanted to introduce my (knife) self briefly and say thanks to everyone-- especially to Sal, Gail, Eric and the rest of the Spyderco family for the great products and ethics! In terms ...
