Serrated Sharpening Thread!

So predictably, the sharpening thread turned into one big discussion about plain edged sharpening. What about serrated blades though?

Re: I will now EDC only SE for 6 months.

My serrated Military is the only knife I currently own. So by default it's all I carry. It began life plain edged. Sent it to Willey Knives and had them put a Spyder edge on it. Their serration pattern gives you a few more teeth on a Military than the original factory pattern. EvilD, is your Militar...

Well, mine is more unique, or taboo depending on who you ask. I created two male enhancement devices. Working on patents for both. My friend and business partner sells one and I sell the other. Malehanger is the one I sell. My site http://malehanger.com" target="_blank

Then again consider that as technology progresses, our likely merging with it will evolve our brains and people as brilliant as Einstein, or Tesla could potentially become more common.

Re: Military Service?

I've always approached military service as a subjective thing. I served for 4 years in the Marines 1996-2000. I joined out of high school but didn't really go anywhere. Kings Bay,GA. Then 29 Palms, CA. We all join knowing what we are potentially going into. A lot of us are facing nothing better to d...

Re: What if noone died or could die?

I'm enough of an optimist to believe that if our technology reaches this point, so will all technology. We wouldn't in other words simply evolve in this one area of life extension. We would also have found ways to fix over population issues, pollution, crime, etc.

Re: I figured out why my millie was off center

I find it really hard to believe the pocket clip was somehow putting that much pressure on anything to cause an off centered blade. As rugged as this knife is. Mine is a user and locks up tighter than any other folder I have owned. Are these models lacking a steel liner on the clip side???

I am pretty sure you get around another inch of serrations going this route vs a factory serration pattern.

Nice write up Dan, glad to hear there's another avid member of the Military fan club! As for the clip, you might want to check out STR on BF who offers these very nice deep pocket carry Ti clips. They're not the cheapest ($37) but they make a huge difference in visibility in the pocket. There's als...

Re: Spyderco Military... 7 days later

Big fan of this knife as well. Any flavor suits me. I do admit to only owning one right now. I may still eventually get another for "just in case". I wish Hollywood liked this knife as much as they do the Police model. It's a better overall knife and better suited for the "big screen&...
