Re: Predictions for Reveal 6

Nothing earth shattering, but these all seem like they will probably happen eventually. Maybe not all in the next reveal though. Straight spine Stretch becomes a production model (with standard black handle). SE version of Dragonfly wharncliffe. Rescue 3 gets an orange handle version. PM2 lightweight.

Re: DLT Exclusive Delica OD Green FRN and Coated Cruwear

The first sprint run was kind of an experiment to begin with so I don't know if this is even possible, but I'd really like to see the straight spine Stretch done in this config. If not the SSS, at least the Endura and/or Endela. I don't carry the Delicas I've got now, so I probably won't get this. B...

Re: Best "work knives"?

Really the "work knife" that gets the most use in the garage and in the yard is a Stanley utility knife. I have one in every toolbox and a few more in drawers around the house. Most have PE blades but I keep one loaded with SE blades. For Spyderco, it used to be a first-generation (154CM h...

Re: POLL: Return of the SpyderSaw? Single bladed or as part of a Dyad?

I voted "no" because: * I don't think Spyderco can compete from a price standpoint in the folding saw market. I'm sure the quality would be there, but even the Chinese made Byrd Cara Cara sells for more than $30, and you can get folding saws for much less than that. A folding saw made in t...

Re: Double Edged Finger Ring Fixed Blade

It doesn't have a ring, but have you looked at the Spyderco Warrior or Pygmy Warrior fixed blades? They have a curved (not a tanto) blade, but they have a cutting edge on one side and serrations on the spine. The full size Warrior used H1 steel, so it's also rustproof. The smaller Pygmy Warrior uses...

Re: Double Edged Finger Ring Fixed Blade

Hey, All: According to the AKTI website: Federal Laws Regarding Knives The Federal Switchblade Act – is the only federal knife law other than laws about knives in federal facilities. The 2009 Amendment clarified assisted-opening knives are not illegal switchblades. Many knife companies, like Boker,...

Well thanks a lot for sharing that with us Vivi :) Everytime I hear the "Fiskar's " name mentioned I always hear good about their products. I've had a pair of their scissors for a long time and I've never had to sharpen them. Not sure this is true or not but I heard about 3 years ago that...

Re: Dragonfly vs Lil' Native

I voted Dragonfly, but it really depends on the use case. For my specific use case, I wanted a knife to carry loose (not clipped) in my pocket and the FRN Dragonfly is much lighter than the G10 Lil Native. When the knife is sitting at the bottom of your pocket, lighter is better. But in your case, s...

This is just a guess, but it looks like a small hippo tusk. It's got the right shape and flattened section at the end.

Re: Anyone Here Like Punk Music?

Lots of good stuff mentioned so far. A few more to consider: Husker Du, Dropkick Murphys, Fugazi, Black Flag (and Rollins solo work).

I'd consider Sonic Youth, Violent Femmes, and (early) DEVO as punk too.

And the godfather of punk: Iggy Pop and the Stooges.

If you do get an interview, I wouldnt mention that you prefer mac. What if they ask me that question? I can't tell a lie like that. Momma will jump out behind something to beat me with a wooden spoon, flip flop or flyswatter. I rather not get the job than get beat by my Momma. LMAO! Outside of Micr...

Re: Browsing the Spyderco Forums old school.

... The specific coding process has a lot of variations, depending on what you're coding for. Developing a web application is different from a desktop application which is different from a mobile application. So depending on what you're interested in, you'll eventually need to specialize some. I re...

Re: Anybody still use CASH?

When a store accepts a CC, they are charged for each CC transaction. Determining the exact amount that gets paid is convoluted; it depends on the CC used, how it is processed (e.g., swiped/tapped vs. web site), what middleman system processes the CC transaction, and some other things. But all togeth...

Re: Anyone else dislike the wire pocket clip?

I don't dislike the wire clip from a functional standpoint. But I prefer tip-down carry, and there are almost no knives with the wire clip that support tip-down carry. I only have a small number of tip-up knives, and only a couple of those have the wire clip: Dragonfly (but I've removed the clip and...

The more I look at the Canis, the more it grows on me. Same here. I don't mind the swedge, and it's a unique design feature that makes this knife really stand out against a sea of other wharncliffe designs. Watching the video, there are some other nice design touches. For example, the video shows t...

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

On Monday, Jay Inslee (WA governor) ordered the same thing in WA state. Any place that has any kind of food service is closed until the end of March. Restaurants can still do to-go and delivery, but no dine-in customers. This is state-wide, not just Seattle or King County. The order also closed most...
