Like most have said, if knew up front exactly what it was going to be, I'd be fine paying now and receiving the knife at some point in the future. I'd really want to see a prototype or mock up at least.

Hi Doeswhatever, I don't think we would do that for one request. Maybe another company may consider an exclusive? It cost a great deal to bring a new model to market, over $100K. It really screws up our cash flow if it isn't popular. sal So, if I had $100K to invest in a sprint run to my own design...

For newbies, it's pretty easy to round off a tip when sharpening on various systems. Even the Sharpmaker, if you draw the knife off the stones you can round the tip off.

I realize this is probably easier to prevent then fix, but I'm curious what technique people use to fix the tip when this happens?

I was unhooking a 3 foot thrashing spiny dog fish in the kayak that knocked a cheap pair of scissors sink into the abyss. My current total number of lost Spydercos is 3 - In in Jamaica, one in OBX, one I dropped at work. Hoping this number stays flat!
