BTW: Do what I say, not what I do  I've had to tape my thumbs and fingers up NUMEROUS times after cutting or stabbing myself. Can't even say speed = more blood, when I've cut myself going slowly more times than going quickly. I love sitting on the couch watching tv, spinning and tossing my...

Took swimming classes YEARS ago. And yet oddly enough, my only problem in water didn't involve swimming as much as waiting. Other than having to use a nose plug, I swim like a fish. The bigger lesson they need to teach people is how to dry roll a boat. Back in May 2000, on a cadet weekend, one of th...

Just hit the grocery store, buy a couple bottles and drink it straight for a day or so. Best solution for sore throats out there.

I'm not gone yet...

Just checked, and I haven't really posted a whole lot over here since I moved to the middle of nowhere. Most days are overtime (47.5hrs this week, 46-48 is my usual week), and I'm 45km from work... which means that my day starts 0430, I'm in traffic 0545, working 0700-1630, and home 1730 or even 180...

Personally I suggest knowing the local laws regarding knife carry, and then not dressing or behaving to attract attention. LEOs are more apt to confront someone who looks like they're gonna cause problems or someone who already is causing problems. Being polite and professional in both your dress an...

I'm up at 0430 during the week, and out the door into traffic at 0545... come the weekend I'm up closer to noon.

You need to come up here where every vehicle on the road is designed to go off-road and 1/2 ton trucks are considered small... Just at the tail end of a chinook, expected high today is 3c (38f) along with 10cm (4") of snow to freeze (after it's done raining now)... I'll probably pass a dozen pp...

You haven't had fun till you tried pnuemonia... Had that fun a year ago . As long as I stayed upright it was workable, but I had the same pain you describe (everything hurt, and because I wasn't sleeping I was drained). Just hoping it doesn't happen this year now. Just remember, when you're sick sle...

I've been using paracord in my combat boots for years. I wear my boots done up tight, and within 3-4 months the eyelets are eating the 550. I'd have to check how many eyelets I've removed from this pair, but the last pair had most of em gone. Probably doesn't help that I'm usually on my feet for 14h...
