As someone who owns the first-gen Manix 1, the first-gen Manix 2 and Manix 2 Lightweight I think I can extrapolate that the S30V FFG Manix 2 is a real winner. The FFG blade will definitely out-slice the hollow grind on the older M2 and Spyderco's S30V has always been one of my favorite steels. It d...

The $70 Manix 2 made me fall in love with the series. Once I started to get into the sprints, I stopped carrying the production model because it was too heavy in my opinion and the extra weight didn't seem to give me any additional strength. The extra weight does have the benefit in that the carrie...

I like the older ones. I've noticed a trend with some of the newer USA Made Spyderco's US in G10 that gives it a wavy un-uniformed look. You can even see what im talking about pictured below (an official Spyderco picture): I don't know if its a new supplier or what, but I can't help but think it fe...

Is the 2nd generation of the Manix 2 (G-10) an improvement over the previous model?
Is the CPM S30V with flat grind a better knife than the 154CM with hollow grind (1st Gen) ? I gather that the recent reviews reflect this and Spyderco claims the same. What are your thoughts and the general consensus here? Anyway, I will be receiving a new Manix 2 in the very near future and I'm loo...

Do you feel more comfortable carrying a larger or smaller knife? What's you pocket size and how much other stuff do you carry? Keys and phone in the front pockets of my jeans for now. I would prefer a larger knife in order to fit my hands, but it may be too big to EDC. Perhaps I am going to the oth...

Please kindly help me decide between the Manix 2 (G-10) and the Manix 2 XL for first
... Spyderco ! I've narrowed it down to a Manix 2 , although I have handled neither and therefore I'm having a hard time in making a decision. I am certain that a Manix 2 will be my first Spyderco and I have decided to exclude the more special editions such as the lighter weight " Translucent B...

Mine came in today, and I have to say it's a fine specimen. Solid, smooth, centered, evenly ground with a nice razor edge. Great job on this one! I was a little surprised at how close the texture of this FRN is to the texture of the FRCP Manix 2. This FRN doesn't seem to have that nice, almost slig...

Grab the new s110v midnight blue frn model for a light but very high performance manix. Or you could buy the one knife to rule them all...caly 3.5. Please stop suggesting cool knives unless you are going to help me buy them! :p The Caly looks like a nice knife too. This is going to be a tough decis...

Which knife should I purchase for my first Spyderco, please?
I think that it would be between the Manix 2 and the Manix 2 Translucent. I like them both, but I guess that I should buy the Manx 2 in black for the first purchase. This is the first knife that I have bought in years (7). I currently own two smaller knives: Benchmade and Kershaw. Thanks in advance.
