Welcome fellow Socal spydernut :) This is my favorite forum on the internet, with the spyderco manufacturers forum on bladeforums being the runnerup. :)

Fluted Ti Milli is such a tease

Takes such a pretty pic in the catalog... yet seems impossible to get.

Did the hockey mask you wore during testing present a challenge to eating the cake?
It was probably pretty tough to force through the little holes.

I very much enjoy micarta as well. I will say though that my Bark River Clax has a black polished g10 handle which achieves a very attractive look which is very similar to micarta. The one thing I would really really like would be more color variation with the non-frn scales. I know g10 can be had i...

I beat on mine pretty hard without fear. I had babied it for awhile then a few months ago I had to replace our dishwasher. This left me with a very old, very gross dishwasher that I either had to have hauled or *make* fit into my trash can. Out came mr Sledgehammer. But the plastic tub itself reboun...

I was concerned about scratches bugging me so I bought a dlc coated one. So far it has worked out really well -- and I have been really using it.

I like mine for all the reasons everyone has listed but to be honest I haven't found myself EDC'ing it very much. I find for day to day carry, my Gayle Bradley suits me better for hard work. And if I need the millitary size, say for breaking down large boxes, light demo work (think taking apart an o...

Got it today -- what struck me immediately was the fit and finish -- perfect blade centering, razor sharp edge -- the usual excellent Seki quality control. Second, the weight for the size is really great - it just disappears in the pocket. Third, I really like the all black, subdued look -- very off...

ordered myself a PE BLK Pac Salt

I ordered myself a PE Black Pacific Salt. It's my second H1 knife -- although the first was a USN Catchermen which I just acquired. Anyone else have a PE Black Pac Salt? How does the coating hold up? I take my kids to the beach a lot so was looking for something I can just clip into my swimsuit. I a...

Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic - nice swiss ETA movment and doesn't break the bank. I for one am very happy about the increase in face size -- I've always had very big wrists which being a shotputter didn't help -- so "regular" sized watches like a Tag Heuer Kirium Chrono gifted to me year...

I too like s30v a lot - but lately I've come back to the vg10 crowd as well.
I can put a wicked edge on my caly 3 or D'allara with ease compared to my other blade. My Rock is also a big razor and has held up real well for camping duties. I guess I don't mind it being vg10.

I do this all the time but its usually to cut up my two little girls food -- although as they are getting a wee bit bigger its not as necessary. No one has ever given me a second look. Now where I used to work we had a Friday bagel day -- the bagel slicing "knife" was a workmans comp claim...
