Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
I would like to try k390. But since its only made in frn models I really do not want to spend my money on it. If they would (depending on the model) put it in a more expensive g10 version i would find it so attractive compared to now. I feel I really am struggling with spyderco’s tactic’s as of lat...

Re: Are We Witnessing The Death Knell of K390 In Production Folders?
What could be the reasons that Spyderco would stop using K390? 1. Material isn't regularly available 2. Insufficient profit from K390 knives. 3. Insufficient sales of K390 knives. K390 is a joy to sharpen, and its performance is astounding. I already have those that I want. If there is a discontinu...

Thanx for the support. Now maybe "youse guys" can help us pick some new Mule Teams? The Cruware Mule is getting ready to be released again. CATRA tests were quite acceptable, especially for an ingot steel. The Elmax Mule teams are on the shelf for the next release. Then ??? Probably needs...

Re: Looking for an improvised Yojimbo 'light.' Any suggestions?
Carried a Salt 2 wharnie at work the past few days and had to keep checking it was there — so light! The action was a bit stiff and gritty but after dropping the whole knife in some hot Rit dye (another advantage of Salts) it came out significantly smoother. I recommend it, such a great knife.

Re: Looking for a Self Defense Knife?
I don't understand why everyone brings up a gun being a better option when the topic of knives and self-defense comes up. It seems like a really obvious thing, but is anyone actually insisting that a knife was a better option for it to merit mention? I also find it interesting that people try to di...

Re: Okay hear me out
Ease of sharpening is much more important when it comes to serrated edges. Teeth with 15V? I’ll pass, k390 is already a chore, but let me know when full SE S30V comes around.

I was juuuust about to order a wharnie k390 Endura the other day. Glad I waited — it’s on the way from Knife Center now.

Re: What Are You Reading ?
Just received the kindergarten reading list for my boy entering the public education system Thursday. I ain’t reading nothin’ — he’s reading to me. And now I know what happens “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” Good on ya, pops. I'm not sure what happens if you give a mouse a cookie, but I'm gonna go ...

Re: Military 2 and sliverax update
Tip down on the Military lends itself well to middle finger opening. I don’t like thumb opening because like you I prefer to hold the clip with my pinky. Try giving the pivot a firm pinch with your thumb and index while flicking that middle finger out. You get some stabilization with the index on th...

Re: You guys can keep your straight spine Stretch
Instead of buying a new Pacific Salt SE on the Summer Sale, I bought this guy on the secondary market. It's used and needs sharpening and hopefully I won't botch that up, I do have a Sharpmaker. As is it just tears paper, but it did destroy a cardboard box pretty easily. David, I was admiring the w...

Re: SE MagnaCut Testing Thread
Had my own SE Salt Native on me doing yard work today. Cross cut a bunch of the neighbor’s bamboo hanging over the fence line and broke down the week’s boxes my wife had collected in the garage. I didn’t exactly test the sharpness when done but dragged it across the Sharpmaker brown rods before head...

Re: *Spydie Summer Sale 2023*
Cutlery Shoppe still has their DLC CTS-XHP PM2 wharnie priced at $169 down from $199. It isn't that sweet little KJ Manix, but as a consolation prize, it ain't bad. https://cutleryshoppe.com/spyderco-c81gpwcorbk2-para-military-2-3-44-cts-xhp-black-dlc-finish-wharncliffe-blade-orange-g-10-handle-cut...
