Cheap Knives?

Well, I found myself in front of the TV this Saturday morning watching an infomercial. It was the Miracle Blade III knives. My questions are: 1. has anyone on the forum ever owned one of these knives? 2. How can they sell over 12 knives for 40 bucks and have any quality left. 3. If these knives are ...

One thing I will say is that the Spyderco Sharpmaker can sharpen nearly anything. It is super easy to operate, especially with both a color manual and video. I have sharpened: Knives (Duh!), scissors, & router bits to name a few. The knives had both Spyderco serrations and other serrations. I re...

I doubt you will be disappointed with this knife. The Chinese has been on of my best purchases in knives(I have over 25 Spydercos). It holds an edge great, and if you have a steel(those metal rods that come with most kitchen knife sets) you won't even need to use a Sharpmaker. I haven't sharpened mi...

I own both knives. The Lil Temperance blade is a little bigger & the handle is much bigger(twice as thick). The Temperance feels like twice the knife compared to the Salsa (Temp is heavier also).

Is the play from side to side or up and down? If it is side to side I would send it to Spyderco for warranty. I had a Chinook with side to side play and they replaced it.
The one I have now is super tight.

Those fine grit stones are as hard as sapphires, good luck rubbing the ridges off. The 204 is covered under a defect in workmanship warrantee though.

I like the Nalgene bottles. I have one that saw many a scouting trip. I'll have to keep my eye out for other brands though.

The Phantom Lock is basically a lock back with a scale that raises the lock back from the side via a pin in the scale going into the lock bar. Shifting the scale raises the lock bar. And yes, it has a notch in the tang. Some laws permit, what honor dose not. Edited by - Thorin Hammer on 3/29/2002 11...

Gary, The Steel is used to re-align the edge of your knife so that you can prolong edge life. In answer to your question. Yes, I use a steel on my knives (Spydercos) and it does do wonders for extending the edge life. The way I use my steel it to run the edge of the knife along the steel from heel t...

Spyderbug spreads + a questoion

I have successfully infected five out of eight of my co-workers with the Spyderbug. This includes myself. Along the same line what do you recommend to keep the knives in at a cafeteria? They don’t want there Spydies mixing with the other knives we have therefore they won’t go in the knife holders we...

Pre ground blade pic?

I don't know why, but I would like to see a picture of a blade after forging but before it has been ground and shaped. Can anyone do that? As I sit here and think I realize why I want to see it. I think it would give me a good idea of how much work goes into the finished blade. Also, about how much ...

I don't have trouble using my Chinese, though I do admire it after every use. It’s the Ti Lum Tanto is the one I can't bring myself to even carry, especially since it has been discontinued. I feel kind of weird but I can’t help it.

One thing I like to do with WD-40 is spray it on a cloth and just use the cloth to clean the blade, a la an oil cloth. I just keep the cloth on a zip lock bag. Then I use White Lightning for the pivot. If you do use WL make sure you let it dry very well. Otherwise it will collect dust like white on ...

Renegade and Black Hawk

Pardon the dumb question but I noticed the Renegade and Black Hawk on the main production list on the Spyderco online catalog.

Are these two knives back in production?
