Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison
You might try hitting the serrations with the sharpmaker corners to soften the points and peaks of the individual serrations. This should make it not bind. I disliked SE at first because of the binding, but it's better now after knocking those parts down a bit. I'm still a plain edge guy though. Th...

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison
The Ladybug hawkbill is ground thinner than the Dragonfly though right? If I could only have one of these I'd probably go for the Ladybug, but I'd definitely choose the Dragonfly Salt over either. These two (especially the Manbug) are ground so thick that they don't slice near as well as the Dragon...

Re: Spydercos self-loosening pivots
Personally, I'd much rather have it like that from the factory and be able to disassemble the knife and control the amount of screw retention myself with my desired loctite. Nothing frustrates me quite like a screw I can't get out because of the factory red or white loctite.

Re: Spyderco for firefighter
I'm a firefighter and my most frequently carried Spyderco is a Pacific Salt, FWIW It's thin, light in pocket, impervious to rust, easy to sharpen, tough, has a strong tip, easy to use ambidextrous with or without gloves, and not too expensive if I lose or destroy it while on duty. I too am a firefi...

Re: Back lock action
So...I ordered one of the clearance SE pac salts, and it arrived today. It flips open and drops freely shut perfectly out of the box, in a way none of my delicas, dfs, or natives have ever done. Perhaps it's just a perfectly tuned sample, but I suspect blade weight plays a big role in all this. The...

Re: Wow Pacific Salt is being discontinued.
I'm guessing this means the plan of releasing a Pacific Salt 1 with FFG LC200N blade is going to the same place that the ZDP189 / Ti Police 3 idea went.... :( Well, all your fandom of the SE Pac salt wore me down, and I got one before it's gone for good. I'll probably still get any Pac salt in lc20...

Re: Choose my knife (or my fate) for 4 days!
I picked the s30v military. I don't own one, but for the sake of this survey and your trip to the wilderness, I think you'll be hard to find a better "Do it all" knife and steel combo.

Re: S30v Endura request
I'd get one for sure! The Endura is a perfect design for me and my hands, S30V is great and for a non-master-sharpener like I am absolutely still "super steel" enough. On the other hand I have to say: The Endura combo of one in VG10 (which I think is just a dream to sharpen on the basic s...

S30v Endura request
I was sitting around and thinking... We have s30v delicas, and s30v dragonflies. I really want an s30v endura... And an endela!. When I first started down the rabbit hole of folding knives, I shamefully fell into the snobbery of steels, and actively pursued only the Mac daddy steels like s110v and m...

Help me list all the available Spyderco liner/frame locks

Re: Spyderco multi-tool?
I think spyderco would make a leatherman skeletool better than leatherman. Easy one hand opening and closing knife, with integrated pliers and a couple of screwdriver options, in a very compact package. Keep it simple.
