Re: Mini Manix
A Manix in the 3" blade / 4" handle size range would be absolutely amazing. I suspect Eric's biggest challenge would be keeping those amazing ergonomics that the Manix is known while shrinking it down in size.
You got this Eric, we have faith in you.

Re: Do you use your Spyderco or just collect them?
ALL my Spydies are in the carry rotation. They are too awesome to sit in a drawer. These knives want to cut stuff. Make your knives happy, cut stuff!

Re: why does the lil' native have minimal jimping?
I didn't find the factory G10 or lack of jimping on the Lil Native to be inadequate in any way, but when I swapped the scales for Allen Putman's grooved G10s, they improved the handling 100%. The texture really locks the little guy in your hand, even without jimping.

Beat me to it. I thought the brown scales were unique to the M390?Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 5:20 pmI’m on the fence , I would have liked a black blade and scales appear to be same color as M390 ? Definitely glad to see another Manix ! MG2

Re: Work vs. "play" knives: I'm not the only one who does this, right?
I don't really have backups or many duplicates, but I definitely have work knifes and play knives. I work in an environment full of snowflakes where a larger knife, if seen, may cause hurt feelings that necessitate a cry closet. :eye-roll So I generally carry a smaller (less scary) folder at work. C...

Agreed! My favorite is the M390, the Manix is an absolute work of art. Kudos to Sal and Eric!

Nothing right now, but I am finally going to buy a Delica. Just trying to decide which one. That pink S30V has been calling to me.

Re: Cruwear/Smooth G10 Yojimbo Knifecenter exclusive
I personally don't think the Yojimbo and smooth/slick G-10 is a good combination! I have the Knifecenter Cru-Wear Para 3 in smooth G-10 and it's very slick, it's beautiful but definitely slick! And for specifically what the Yojimbo is designed for..... This was exactly my first thought as well, but...

Re: How much of your collection do you regularly use?
Think I have around 15 nice knives. Most get rotated daily, but a couple of the nicest ones are saved for special occasions. All are carried. Don't usually carry micarta scales if I plan on nasty work.

Usually just one folder in my pocket, but there's a utility knife and and a leatherman in my tool bag, and it's usually close by.

Re: Your value line knives
I don't think that it's officially in the value line but I love the Cat. For my tastes and needs I can't think of a better value in the Spyderco line up at any price point. I agree! I have an older Cat with jimping on the choil and thumb ramp. It is a wonderfully made knife. The quality of build an...

Just checked, and all mine have choils, so I guess I like em. Medium-average hands, but do find myself using the choil quite a bit.

Manix 2s and anything with a comp lock. My PM2 and Para3 have mirror polished washers and are well broken in. Could fidget with them for hours.

It's like the Manix 2 was custom molded for my hand. Both the G10 and LW models are pretty darn close to perfection for me.

My Manix 2 LW and Cat have held an edge pretty well. Haven’t sharpened either yet, but after reading this I am looking forward to sharpening.
