I rec'd mine last night. Although, I haven't used it yet, I really like it. Mine came perfectly centered, a tad stiff, but suspect it will break in nicely. This one will be used for hiking, camping, and general EDC. It didn't knock the Sage 5 out of my pocket for today, but I'll have the Manix on me...

This is puzzling. How many snowboarding firefighters could there be? Wouldn't it be better to make the items available to the public and use part of the proceeds to support firefighters ? Maybe leave off the official insignia on the clip side of the blade to differentiate the ones sold to civilians...

Not sure of the percentage, but they are slightly discounted off MSRP. They are still quite a bit higher than online dealer pricing and you will have to pay Colorado tax if buying in person...but whatever, I still bought a few knives while there.

I stopped by the SFO on Monday and then again today--awesome place! I took home a Manix 2 and Sage 5 as well as a H1 Dfly for the wifey. We're staying in Boulder tonight, and hiking around Lyons tomorrow before driving back to Michigan on Saturday.

Admittedly I haven't searched, but I'd be curious as to HOW people clean them.

My god the K2 is a beast. The comparison pics really put its size into perspective.

What is the story with the orange Manix 2 lightweight? Over the past six months or so, I have seen the same picture of Sal with it pop up in threads. I still haven't really been able to find out any info on it. Sprint run or dealer exclusive? Blade steel? ETA? I'm not going to lie, an orange Manix 2...

I sandblasted the clip and sent it out for a zinc-coating..I'm very happy with the results--the picture doesn't do it justice. The color is very similar to a stone wash finish.

Too cool--my uncle is on the island as we speak and my mom was up there last weekend. I haven't been up there since the early 2000s when I jet-skied from Mackinaw City to the Island, and made a detour to go between the pillars of the bridge. Such a cool place!

I'm curious if anybody knows whether or not Spyderco offers factory tours?

My wife and I are *probably* heading to Colorado toward the end of September and a factory tour would certainly be the highlight of our trip :D
