Thanks - I think will just do as I have done numerous times in the past and carry whatever I want. I just wanted to make sure that idiot Ray Nagin didn't put in any restrictive policies regarding knives while he was playing the inept dictator.

I lost my first Benchmade AFO 9050 years ago, and nearly tore my truck apart looking for it, then retraced my steps of that day at least 3 times....no dice. I guess someone got a nice knife courtesy of my carelessness and the slanted-loose pocket cut of BDUs

He (STR) has done a couple for me and they are very nice.

The guy plead out and they were surprisingly lenient considering NYC's laws and what I have read in this thread from people who live there..

Wow! - With all the stringent gun and knife laws, NYC must be a crime free utopia.

Does Spyderco offer a laser engraving service for their knives (i.e.:names, designs, etc on the blade)? If not, is there anyone that people on here recommend to do this type work on their spydies? If forum rules prevent posting the names of outside vendors, would someone who has had this done elsewh...

I've looked at the military but the blade is too long for me to feel comfortable with. The reason I said under the $100 mark is because I didn't want people suggesting knives like the lionspy or something that in that price range. 10-4. Check out the "Paramilitary" and see how it suits yo...

That being the case, I would go with the Military model, but I prefer the larger knife...that however defeats the purpose of your original question about staying under $100.

I like the serrated Endura and it only costs out 1/2 the amount of what you are looking at the staying under. The blade design (fully serrated) is not conducive to everyday chores, but would be nasty as a self-defense tool. Just my opinion.
