Re: Anybody here make their own bread?
I do. Sourdough. Kept a starter for about 6 years now. Feed the starter every 2-3 days. Mixing and kneading takes all of 10 minutes (just add salt and flour). Two hours to rise and bake for one hour in a cast iron Dutch oven. Easy peasy. Always comes out great. Recently been making smaller “individu...

I don’t agree 100% O. I think it is responsible giving to ensure to the best of your ability that your gift is used responsibly
It’s still “giving”

Re: Graphene Assembler and Vitamin question
Do you and others also think this is correct? I have been told and read that with certain vegetables and foods, the skin of the vegetable or fruit contains the most nutrients, and when people get rid of the skins, such as with tomatoes, potatoes, and other foods, they are actually throwing away alo...

Re: supergold2 confirmation?
...Then I started comparing the composition with other steels and reading what others have to say about it. It seems like SG2 falls somewhere in between VG10 and S30V. Am I correct there? That wouldn't be a bad thing since I enjoy using both those steels and they suit my needs well. ... Somebody pl...

Re: Chicory Coffee
Good post, Dan. I haven’t had Community Coffee since I worked offshore Louisiana in the 80s. We drank A LOT of it out there. Brewed so strong it hardly needed a cup
The chicory does kill off any bitterness making “average” quality coffee quite good!

Re: supergold2 confirmation?
What is a 'supergold' ? SG and the newer SG2 are upper level knife steels (as you’d probably guessed) Not going to win any “best X” categories (most stainless, hardest, toughest etc) but a nice all round steel that makes a good knife blade. Maybe 1/2 step up from VG10 in the same general character....

Great suggestions. I’ve used them to good effect but day in, day out I tend to stick with cast iron for that sort of thing. I’ve always done just fine with it.

Josh - is it Kauai Coffee (brand)? We visited their plantation on Kauai in 2001 and have been autoship customers ever since. Really good stuff. Dan - I have a few hand grinders too (1 Turkish and 2 regular) You’re right, they do a fine job. Mine are “old” but the new ones coming out are impressive. ...
