I got to handle one at the SFO a few months ago. It was actually not as much of a pocket hog as I expected, and I liked the ergos and balance of it in hand. I plan to get one eventually.

Both are good. I've actually been carrying a Positron every day for the last couple weeks, but I'd go for the Techno first.

I don't know... at first look, the TAC 1 just looks like a Kershaw Volt with a Spydie hole to me. I'm sure it's a nice knife, but doesn't stand out as particularly exciting to me.

I have two Cats, neither have jimping. I'm not sure why Spyderco made the change, but I don't mind the lack of jimping on the Cat. It seems plenty secure in the hand for a small folder, and sometimes a smooth thumb ramp is a good option to have. Before getting into Spydercos, I actually used to hate...

Now that you mention it, I see what you mean about the scale potentially getting in the way when opening. But, I never really noticed it before.

I continue to be impressed by the lock fit on my Battlestation. Excellent work.
