Re: Attempting to Make Scales
Id only worry about strength while working the wood and maybe tightening down screws, may need to use some small washers. I think thats the main issue. Drilling a stepped hole and leaving enough material to be strong with the screws tight. Also considering how close the screw holes are to the edge o...

Re: Strongest Known Blade Lock for Spyderco Knives?
Every time this comes up, the general answer is that you can engineer any lock to be as strong as you want it.
It doesnt really matter, all locks should be stronger than the breaking strength of the blade/steel.

Re: Looking for Advice on a trade
Absolutely make that trade. I would probably make that trade even if I had to put money on top. The K2 is awesome, I wish I had one. Also from other threads about it, the writing on the wall seems to be that spyderco wont do another collaboration with the designer and I doubt they will produce a fut...

Re: Info For Sal and Eric
No offense, but knife production is hardly critical infrastructure. Causing damage to Spydercos CNCs sucks, but is unlikely to lead to human harm. Rail, power, dams, etc is what keeps me up at night. A lot of cyber attacks are about money. Give us money or we destroy your databanks/ equipment/ leak...

I still have to do training for cyber security stuff even though it doesnt really affect my job. Its almost always... Dont respond to outside emails. (This is more nuanced but dont download anything or give important info, many outside emails can be legit.) Never click an unknown link. Never answer ...

Re: The Edge Is A Ghost?
The way I've interpreted it is similarly to the Zeno's Paradox where if you travel half the distance between two points, and then half that distance, and half that distance and so on for eternity, you'll technically never reach your destination. Theoretically an edge can get sharper and sharper in ...

Re: Help me decide... Aqua Salt plain or serrated ?
Serrated
There are plenty of plain edge fixed blades that will probably be better than plain edge h1. Theres not many full serrated fixed blades on the market that are in the same category as the aqua salt.
I say se aqua salt and get some other pe fixed blade for when you want a plain edge.

Re: manbug wharncliffe chat
As far as variations of the manbug leaf goes I would like some kind of a salt.
Between vg10, k390, and spy 27, I would probably get the Spy 27 and make it my new keychain edc manbug.

Re: Sal - will there be an Aqua Salt successor?
I remember seeing an x-ray of an aqua salt handle a long time ago. The partial tang seemed to go 3/4 of the way to the back of the handle. That handle is molded on as well so even abuse isnt going to work it loose. Its not like its some pinned hidden tang handle from 60 years ago. The only thing the...

Re: Sal - will there be an Aqua Salt successor?
What is great about the aqua salt is the over all design, but especially the handle. The ergos are really good.
I dont think anything besides an aqua salt 2 would be an appropriate replacement.

Re: CPM 15v Manix 2
I was literally just cutting thick plastic ties off of boxes of tile with my s90v manix 2 ltwt last week.
No problems.
You could cut those ties with a long thin piece of s110v or maxamet as thin as a razor blade so long as you were smart about it.

Re: 2023 Official Discontinued List
Yeah, time to get at least one more aqua salt and maybe another fish hunter.
I have a question.
My siren has the lock issue and I still havent had a chance to send it in. Since its discoed does that just mean I can never get it fixed?

Re: Anyone else prefer Barrel Nut Clip Holder
I do like the design but I have also been lucky and not has any problems with it. ... 2) I've seen the recess in the FRN get wallowed out to the point where the clip is no longer stable. I seem to recall someone having one get to the point where the clip would actually rotate. Aside from that, I lik...
