Re: Small Folders Okay Gor Self Defense?
Never get into a knife fight. Run away. A knife is good when the other person has nothing. It loses to a gun, it loses to a hammer or big stick if the person with those things knows what theyre doing. Honest advice. 1. Take up running. Cant hurt you if they cant catch you. 2. Take self defense and m...

Better? Thats a can of worms.
I would say go with h1 or lc200n. If youre going to get serrated you may as well get rust proof and tough also.

I have the manbug salt but yes. It would be the number one spyderco I would recommend to people who dont care about knives at all. It will cut anything. Its rustproof. Its tough as nails. It can go indefinitely with zero maintenance. You could arguably get away with never sharpening it. Small. Light...

You can get different colors in a patina from different substances with pretty much any material, not just maxamet.

Re: Lubricating knives with no liners and/or no washers
Its the lockbar on tang action that can bother me if they sit for a long time.
I dont worry about the frn wearing out.
It is interesting though, there does seem to be less of a need to oil once broken in.

Eh. I think they might sit on this stock for a while. Im tempted to get a backup, just because I love the color, but I really need to slow down on purchases.aquaseafoamshaman wrote: They recently changed the maximum purchase to 4 units.
I think one of their native 5 exclusives was around for months if not a year.

The proficient and kapara look amazing.
Havent played with any fluted cf.
If its just going to be a flat slab of carbon fiber then I like peel ply.
Really wish that native chief was peel ply or had some milling like the diamond arc pattern.

Re: Stretch in a steel I never heard of v-toku2
Well it arrived and it’s awesome, one problem is it’s huge, and if I am going to carry it on horse back or on a ATV or bush plane, I will need to purchase a good sheath as it doesn’t seem to fit in my pockets, any idea who makes a good sheath, need one for a case trapper also There are plenty of ch...

Re: Why don't they chrome plate carbon steel?
From the makers perspective it doesnt seem worth it. Carbon steel is nice because its cheap, easy to heat treat, easier to work with, etc. But if your now going to add a whole process of chroming it, then it seems like you could have just bought a stainless steel and put up with the more difficult h...

I bet Contamination. Particles from some other steel transfered onto yours, probably from the grinding belts.

I just couldnt resist the orange. At least it will match the shaman and manix 2 lightweight I have from them.
