I would say go with h1 or lc200n. If youre going to get serrated you may as well get rust proof and tough also.

I have the manbug salt but yes. It would be the number one spyderco I would recommend to people who dont care about knives at all. It will cut anything. Its rustproof. Its tough as nails. From the makers perspective it doesnt seem worth it. Carbon steel is nice because its cheap, easy to heat treat, easier to work with, etc. But if your now going to add a whole process of chroming it, then it seems like you could have just bought a stainless steel and put up with the more difficult h...

I bet Contamination. Particles from some other steel transfered onto yours, probably from the grinding belts.

Sand off the spots and see if they come back.
