My wife is an 'eye-roller' too when it comes to my little obsessions but I caught her arranging her own little collection into a neat little line on her desk the other day! http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k619/Crabbacus1/JanasKnives_zpsa362b9ff.jpg I bet she sits alone, opening and closing her l...

I've not got one of the latest FRN Super Blue sprints but I'm really liking my Caly 3 sprint a heck of a lot! :) It might be due to the Caly 3 design more than the steel, but this thing seems to never leave my side at the moment. I keep her at 30 inclusive and find that's plenty slicey for the Super...

They pinch/squeeze the lock bars to adjust/tweak the lockup when it is needed. I think the light is catching it just right to make it look funny. You're spot on mate, it was a trick of the light. I've taken a couple of pics showing what the lock bar actually looks like... http://i1118.photobucket.c...

Excellent write-up, Uke! (too bad about your QC issues... I don't think that's the norm, on this model, although you did seem to catch too many on a row, if you count your brown Calypso...) Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I seemed to have quite a run of bad luck. Like I said, maybe we got a ...

Here is the Super Blue freshly sharpened at 30 degrees inclusive: https://i.imgur.com/RDJgUHy.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1GaZxmV.jpg Well, there you go, I absolutely love the Caly 3 despite a bit of a niggle about QC and it is a great mid sized folder for anyone who loves classic Spyderco ergos. As for...

In hand comparison with the well known Paramilitary 2: https://i.imgur.com/5zM8Yfm.jpg I had a smooth action straight out of the box with all three examples, no pivot grittiness that I've seen reported on some of the regular Caly 3s and 3.5s. The blade retention on the Caly 3 is superb, snapping shu...

Rock solid lock up, no blade play in any direction bar the usual lock-back 'give' of a couple of mm vertically if you apply upwards pressure on the tip of the blade. The lock bar has a Boye dent, I can take it or leave it: https://i.imgur.com/s22eIM4.jpg Goldilocks G10...not too smooth, not too roug...

Caly 3 Review & My First Super Blue Experience...
Hello all, I've been thrashing my Super Blue Caly 3 for just over two months now so thought it's about time to stick up a review. Well, despite still not managing to land myself a Super Blue Caly 3.5 I finally got my grubby mitts on this smaller sibling, albeit with a few bumps along the way. There ...

I think we need to keep this thread active to demonstrate the demand. I joked a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to buy a light weight Manix until a black blade one came out, and I had no idea then that this prototype existed  I will definitely buy when/if available. +onehundredmillion. Count...

With their shimmering scales and proud liners the two Gayle Bradley collaborations just radiate quality. For me these knives are a perfect pair in both looks and functionality, stunning and sleek and tremendously tough no matter which size. I wanted to create an image that showed these gleaming sibl...

After reading this thread I took a look at my Manix 2s and noticed that my M4 Sprint has this same problem :( I'm pretty OCD and just couldn't leave it alone, so I decided to go down this route... Jack, I pulled mine apart yesterday to verify the lock stop before I made my last comment. One of the a...

I love these designer's insight videos, thanks for doing them. I must be one of the few then that only ever use the smaller release cut out on the air. It feels smoother to me as the leverage is so much better. Having said that, when I first got mine my thumb was immediately drawn into that large cu...

Cheers guys. I think the Ulize is a fancy Police 3 sprint. Maybe we can hope for a laminate Super Blue sprint. :) It was an excellent review. I enjoyed it. Thank you. I loved the look of the Ulize when I first saw it, but for me I need a forward choil that lets me really choke up on the blade (as on...

And the flush pivot is just fantastic! I'm not a fan of the protruding 'humpy' Caly 3 pivots so I'd love to see more of this kind of thing: https://i.imgur.com/HSkshAW.jpg I've always found that a benefit of the back lock is very reliable blade retention and the retention on the Calypso is excellent...
